Default Do you bother returning anything to the store if it's under $5.00?

Do you ever return anything, including food or pet food to the store to get your money back if it's under $5.00?

Heck yes. Just today my husband returned a .99 switch plate because he picked up the one for the light switch and we needed the one for the outlet.

I usually do not return food products unless it is outdated or spoiled when I purchased it.

I do. I usually wait thought until I need to go into town. I wouldn't make a special trip for a return under $5, since the cost of gas is so high, and I live a few miles from town.

I do I do! Its still money that would be wasted if not returned to your bank account right? I too wont go out of my way to do it but if Im headed by the store I'll just pop in.

In the past, I did.... but now with two small children to get in/out of carseats, I won't make a special trip for a small amount.

Yep, I do. I try not to make a special trip but I will combine errands or send it with DH. It's not just about money sometimes, it's about not cluttering the house with something we decide we don't really need/want.

Absolutely. Recently dh got charged the wrong amount on some rice milk so he went back to store after the fact because they'll give you the full amount back for the first wrong price. We don't make special trips or anything, but if we're going to be passing that way. Money is money

I do too! It doesnt matter to me how much it costs, if I can't use it why keep it and waste the money? JMHO.

Most definately I do. I had to take 2 veggie cans back to the store & COMPLAIN to the manager for having cans that were in NO way usable because there was rust all over the tops of these cans ha told me what I needed to do in order to get my $ back & I got it back & this hasn't happened since.

I've even returned items that cost less than a dollar (if I was going back to the store anyway). Usually only if they were defective or something. I returned a bag of potatoes (like $3) a few months back because the outside of the bag read "every potato guaranteed fresh" and they were 75% rotten.

I did this just Sunday! DH went to the local grocery (two blocks away) and got French's spicy brown mustard without asking if we had any first. I had TWO unopened bottles in the pantry ("I couldn't find them!" he said) that I had paid pennies for with coupons. He paid 2.09 (!) for a bottle. I took it right back!

Honestly I don't, if I can't find someone to give it too, I add it to my yardsale stuff and if it doesn't sell I donate it.
