Need a new well
Ok gals and guys here is the news. We have to drill a new well. Got the news this morning. I am ready to scream. There goes another 4-5K. I am fit to be tied but what can you do? Have to have water in order to survive. Also I believe that if we dont have water that our insurance company can cancel our insurance. Our house is paid for now so I am not sure how that would work but I'm not gonna tell them I am having problems. We have water every other day. So what the well man said is that when the well was put it they stopped when they might have hit a seep instead of water itself. SO..... now to write the check............................

Well if it makes you feel any better a good friend of ours just got a new well drilled. All told $35,000!!!! Thats not anything special but the well and a new holding tank ,everything else was used off the old well, or included in the price.
They are ridiculous out here!

I'm sorry to hear that! Ugh!!
I know how you feel ~ we have to replace or repair our main plumbing line which will be very expensive too.
Problem started weeks ago, and I haven't mentioned it until now because I've been so upset about it (especially with our house for sale)! The roots of our big Pepper tree in the front yard have gotten into the line and have played havoc with our plumbing for years.
Hope it all works out for you!

UGH! I guess you are right; you have to have water to survive so what else or you going to do? I would hate to have to write that check, but at least in doing so you know that the problem will be resolved and you will have water every day instead of every other day!!!

From what I understand(which isnt much when it comes to this type of stuff) they are going to drill in the same place where the other well is. Just go deeper. I think....I dont understand this stuff and not gonna even attempt to. All I know is that I'm roaring mad. And dh just walks around shaking his head mumbling. As I said before they think that who ever put the well in stopped at a seep instead of the actual water table.

Forgot the best part of all of this. The driller can't drill us a new well for a MONTH. His rig is down. Well I guess it could be worse. I think.....

Ugh. I'm hoping they hit good water flow quick. We are lucky here to have an artisan well. Septic is what gives us problems from time to time(right Shorty?), all part of living away from services I guess. Hope you get it resolved without too much hassle in lifestyle & in the pocketbook.

Awwwww...I'm sorry...that really sucks.
I hope it's at least fixed quickly. It would drive me up the wall to not have water in the house!
Keep us posted...

aweeeeeeee i take it theres no other drillers around then him right?
here it cost about 10,000 to 12,000 but it can be more if you have to go deeper then 150 feet or more. being a Island and surounded by salt water and marshes in places, low land my old house was dug almost 100 feet.

Sorry to hear about the well problems. A month is a long time to have an on/off water issue.
