Default Do You Think This is Tacky??

I bought a Pur water filter thingy and put it on the kitchen faucet so we can re-fill water bottles. Grabbing a water bottle is very convenient for us; DH freezes them and then takes them to work and he drinks them as they thaw out all day long and DS is now only drinking "water" due to his "pimple" problem .......so I have the "Good Water" (like the nice China) in the garage fridge for company and we are gonna start washing and refilling our water bottles for our own use.

I hope this isn't too tacky

We wash and refill ours as well. I keep a few unopened bottles for company.

No it is not tacky. If you come to my house you will get tap water not filtered not bottled just plain old tap. I only keep bottled water for my trash men. When they come by at 2 p.m. and it is 100 degrees out the appreciate it.

We do not like bottled water at this house we like our tap.

I do this sometimes and don't see a problem with it, but DH absolutely hates it

I'm glad that the majority says "Not Tacky"...I just thought for a moment that I may have taken frugal too far but I am trying to save a buck or two here and I don't see anything wrong with it myself.

I so wish we could drink our tap but we have a well....or actually its the aquafier and it's so full of iron and other run-off stuff that we have to drink, give to furbabies and cook with filtered water. DH and I were talking about going with the water cooler thingy and those 5 gal. water bottles. There is a machine outside CVS that chgs 1.50 for 5 gal.

DH just asked that we be sure and offer company the un-opened water.

What's wrong with the water from the PUR filter? We have one and that's what we give our company. We reuse our water bottles as well. But we drink the PUR water and so does anyone else that comes to our house.

I purchased some 32 oz. Rubbermaid drink bottles at Walmart. (The 'cheap' brands will leak if they tip in your car or lunch bag.) I like them better than recycling the bottles the water comes in simply because they are easier to clean. They where a good investment!

When company comes, they get the filtered tap water in a nice glass (which they'll never guess came from the dollar store!). Cheap cheap cheap!
