Makeup...getting every last drop!
Well, I kept forgetting to go get another tube of makeup, and after I had absolutely shaken and squeezed the last I could out of it, I was forced to cut it open and get the dregs. Guess what? I got four more days out of it, and I could probably get another, but I'm gonna bite the bullet and go buy some more today.
Well, that will teach me to toss out makeup tubes!

I have done that with toothpaste. It is amazing how much is left in there. I have also done that with my face wash that comes in a tube and I probably got about two more weeks of washing my face out of it. When I first tried it, I thought, WOW, I've thrown away months and months of face washings!!

LOL, around here, I'm famous for getting every last drop of anything out of a tube. My mom did it too.

I did that with a bottle of Aveeno lotion. I actually got more than a weeks worth of lotion out of it, too! I think about how many bottles I just tossed, thinking it was all gone.

I'll be honest and say that I don't do that with makeup. In fact, I often throw away my mascara with plenty left in it. I use clear mascara, and after a couple of months of use, it gets really grungy looking. I figure there's probably all sorts of bacteria in there anyway, so I toss it and buy a new tube. I'm not as particular about all my other makeup (I guess because I can't visibly see how gross it's getting), but I don't dig to the bottom. The bacteria thing again...
But I'm all over using up every last drop of toothpaste, face soap, hair spray, etc.

please, when you toss your makeup, remember that it is chemical waste and should not go into your normal trash can.

Great job!

I do that with my face wash and lotion, and hand lotion, too. Ya wouldn't guess there's that much left, would ya?

I'm on the ignorant end here...how do you store what you've found? Or does the tube just stay on the sink? I've thought about mixing moisturizer and makeup when the makeup is a half empty bottle...any other ways to stretch it?

I have several squishy tubes of cream from Bath & Body Works. They're fairly tall too and the one on my desk was on its last legs and every day the guy who's office is just outside my cube hears me squshing the hell outta the tube trying to get it out. Then one day he heard nothing and the following days...nothing too! He asked me if I had gone and bought a new one b/c there were no more squishing noises.
He finally saw my tube on my desk. It had gone from being tall to stubby. I had cut off the middle section and kept the end to make a lid and I kept the base b/c thats where all the cream was still waiting to be used. He actually saw me pull off the top of the tub, dip my finger and reclose the tube.
THE LOOK ON HIS FACE! Hahahaha...he was thinking I was being cheap and offered to buy me any other kind of lotion that I wanted but I said no no I'll just keep using this one as it was my fave. That lil stubby stump had 2 more weeks use of hand cream in it! He's still in awe to this day, though I have a new one on my desk.
