spent way too much!!!
I made a mistake and went to the mall this week. I seem to find the best clearance items when I'm broke. I was bad and put stuff on credit card.. but it was all clothes except for a pair of maternity pants that cost me less than $9. JC Penney had 60% off all clearance, Bon Ton had 60% lowest price on their clearance. I got dd tons of clothes for this fall and next summer... long sleeve shirts with mickey and pooh in size 2 (she's in 6/9 months..lol) for less than a dollar each!! Cute outfits for next summer for less than $5, pants for $1.50 b(and much more - believe me). For my 9 year old, I got him $30 polo shirts for $3 each!! I got him jeans and pants for about $10, and 2 really nice jackets (one for this year and one in the next size up) for $10 each, marked down from over $30. His school shopping is just about done - just have to look through it all and make sure before then. Oh and I got some cute little outfits for the new baby that were only a few bucks each.
I know I got good deals and I know they will need the clothes. I know I got some awesome deals... but I still feel bad about buying almost $100 worth of clothes. Does anyone else have this problem?

I tried that once on the card and realized how much i spent after the int. rate when i got the clothes paid off. But really good deals otherwise. WTG.

As long as you don't get yourself into debt I wouldnt beat yourself over it :-D I sometimes overindulge too a bit.
Back on the frugal bandwagon for the third time and hoping to slash my debt by the end of 11' and start saving again!
No more CC debt except school debt.

I am guilty, too. But I try my best to pay the card off when it comes in so there is no interest.

~How can it be bad to get clothes for your kids so cheap? I think you did good and, though is seems like a large number now, you'll be saving alot of money in the long run. If you don't have an inventory of your kids clothes yet, I reccommend you make one. Otherwise it's too easy to keep picking up deals and then realize you have more shirts than any one child could ever wear.~

You can buy them now or later. Later you might not find the deals, but pay of the card before the inter. rate kicks in.

Your kids are growing, and clothes are necessities. Better to buy the clothes when they're at rock-bottom prices than to wait until they need them immediately and pay much more.
Just cut back as much as you can in some other area.

Good deals. Just think of how much money you saved in the long run.

I'm guilty of this, too. (And thanks for encouraging me to go to JC Penney. LOL.)
I did this last summer, shopping the children's clearance at department stores, and got awesome stuff for 80-90% off! I got shirts for $1, two piece outfits for 1.99, and so forth. My boys already have way too many clothes, though, so I had to start an inventory for the oldest so I'd know realistically what I needed. This helps as long as you keep it updated.
Good finds!

I did that over a year ago and then had a hard time paying it back but thank goodness I am frugal or I would still owe to this day. Glad you got some awesome deals though

those polo shirts were a great deal! hey.. this should be a "look what i got!" post, not a "i spent too much" post. you were going to need to go school clothes shopping anyways, and now youve got it mostly out of the way and for WAY less than if you had even paid regular sale prices.
nice job!
i wish they had $3 polos in my size (teehee)marie/andrea

Good deals! Pay the card off as fast as you can...even if it takes 2 months it's still a bargain! And you don't have to mess with school clothes shopping later!
