Best free thing ever?
I'm just curious what the best freebie you ever got was?
My wife and i just got a really nice free crib from a relative. But in terms of online freebies, we get lots of solid stuff, but nothing amazing yet. Curious to hear about everyone else...

Hummmm I would have to say my pressure cooker and crockpot I got from friends. I do get alot of small freebies from the links posted here on the village, but nothing to make you go WOW!

i get TONS of spices/dressings/gravy/jelly from my neighbors across the street. i LOVE spices and he gave me 6 cases worth of overstock one day. i had to halve it with my mother because i would never have been able to use it all in time.

We got a deep freeze for the basement from hubby's work. No one was using it, so he asked if we could have it. Cool, huh?

I would have to say that it would be all the free food we have gotten this year. The free loaves of Martin's bread, and the 50 lbs of bacon, boxes of hotdogs and a large bologna. I can't think off the top of my head, there are so many things that I could list.

~My in-laws gave us their 5 year old minivan when they bought a new car. We'd asked for it 2 years before and said we'd pay whatever the trade-in value was but they ended up giving it to us. Wow, that was nice! So far this year my favorite free things were Hanes undies through the mail, a full sized B&BW lotion with coupon, VS undies in-store with coupon, and a free dress at Boscov's with a sale and coupon.~

Years ago, my sister bought emerald and diamond earrings that I loved forever. They were my birthstone (not hers). She wore them for a few years and one day, she came to visit and had something in her hand. She told me to close my eyes and hold out my hand--I did and she gave me the earrings. I think about her kindness everytime I wear them.

Probably a car. My inlaws gave first dh & I their car when we were without one with two small babies. It was only 6 yrs old and one of those 'luxury' (loaded) Dodge Dynasty cars.
Close second would be the game system that Sega sent us. We sent our Sega game system (can't remember which one, one of the first ones that took 'cd' like games) in to be fixed, they sent us another one...then sent us our fixed one back. It was a $300 game system!
Tied for third would be either the a/c unit given to us last year or the portable dishwasher given to us. All of these may be replaced this Christmas when my brother gives me a brand new treadmill intended for the dumpster
We have been very fortunate.

When DH was in school and our only car died, our friends gave us a car. It was a tremendous blessing, and we hope the car holds out until we can give it to someone else who can use it.

I guess the best freebie we have received this year would be the $120 gift card to Bass Pro Shops.
The best freebie we have gotten on the web would be a Scrubbing Bubbles Shower Cleaner. You push the button and it sprays the shower to clean it so you don't have to scrub to clean it! A true time saver!!~*Michelle*~

I've had two free cars--one from each parent at different times. Neither were great cars but they got me by for awhile (about a year each... lost the first one to a deer and the second one actually gave out on me...).
Recently, I got $300 in prepaid AMEX cards for switching my internet provider... I'm using them for groceries and gas.

The freezer from my mom. Course the chesterfield and chair from an unknown neighbour who couldn't sell it at his garage sale might come second. Or the BBQ from my SIL. All of them have been well used, but the one that has saved us the most money over the years has been the freezer.

I received a free computer from Best Buy which was a free after rebate. I also received a free grant to go to culinary school worth about $20,000. Lately I've received 4 diabetes glucose testing meters for free.
