    Default Tight month ahead :(

August is going to be a really hard month. 1 of my childcare kids is leaving due to mom being ill, another(part-timer) may leave 2 weeks earlier, mom is pregnant and exhausted. I have 3 sports registrations due and school tuitions. NOT good timing..lol

That said, this is TEMPORARY. I have replacements starting, a family that left last year, is now returning with an extra child Hopefully they'll start on the 15th of August and then it'll alleviate a little pressure, otherwise it'll be on the 1st of September.

I'm going to really need to cut back! HOWEVER, there is enough for all the other bills. We'll have enough for the fees, but we'll really need to be lean on the groceries. Not alot of extras. I'm a little perturbed as no one said anything, he was supposed to, and she assumed he did..lol. So I went ahead and ordered school clothes..... I'd have waited has I know.

I'll mend the budget for next fall and set it up differently. Summer does appear to be a time of transition I'll need MORE padding next year.

Murphy did rear his head, and we used the EF for vehicle stuff, I was figuring it would be rebuilt by Sept 1, and this occured. NOT the end of the world. I'll just have to use the line of credit for fees and pay it back as soon as the new kids start again. So by October-ish the EF and credit we'll need to use will be done.

I'm still going to look at dh wage and see if we can't make it without the line of credit, as all bills are current, even prepaid. I think I'm a month ahead on my student loan, credits on power and gas, so I might be able to swing it. It's just a bad time with all the extras needed. Clothes for fall, I'm thinking I'll fake it for the girls, their jeans that are to short I'll make into gauchos with inserts or something, Ithink they have some gift cards yet too. Make a few skirts from their too short jeans with some fabric inserts. Something to carry them a few weeks. I've got fabric,a nd since I'm down some kids I'll have a little more time too. DS will have to make due with his school uniforms from last year until we get everything in order. Good thing he hasn't grown, only need shoes. I'mgoing to see if I can't fake his school logo, as I can do hoodies for $14, sweats for $8 and shorts for 5. Where to order them it would be $50 for the hoodie, $35 for sweats and $25 for shorts! Anything that's screen printed, I'm stuck I don't have a connection there. But the costs are insane from the supplier for his uniforms. But, I can trim that I think..lol

Sorry you're going through a tight time...but I totally understand! My Dh just decided that we're going to move next fall with our friends. Moving is insanely expensive!! We're cutting corners on everything...and will have to keep it up for the next 14 months!! ARGH! He'll be going to school until May...so we'll have to reeeeeeeeeeeeally pinch pennies!

I'm sorry you're having some lean times right now, but it sounds like you've got a good plan to get y'all through it all.

I'm sorry that you are going to have a tough month. I almost posted the same thread myself after figuring out our finances for the month of August and seeing the huge amount of money lacking from the grocery and gas funds. Just try and hang in there, as you said it's only temporary. Just 1 bad month.

We are facing a very "lean" August ourselves. Good luck to you. Cheap meal ideas, anyone?

I plan to do most of dd's back to school clothes shopping at the Goodwill. She has grown so much since last year, she needs everything!

Lean times can be dealt with especially when you have a plan and it sounds like you have one. After the rain there is a rainbow

We did some cool capris with Chloe's outgrown jeans last year. Just cut them off and washed them a couple of times to get that frayed look. Her friends thought they were awesome. Here we can get away with capris until at least October.

Great planning! It'll be tight but you can make it!
