Default I am going to go to some thrift stores today...

...for the first time. I have been to one two baby stores before, one that sells mostly furniture, the other is Once Upon a Child, and I have gotten a few things for the baby. I have never been for myself, or for my older boys. I am going out of curisoity more then anything. We have one upscale shop that I drive by all the time and think I should stop, but never do, well today is the day.

Maybe I will find some great deals!

Good luck!! You never know what's in there until you stop and look, and don't forget to at least check your local Goodwill, I often find WONDERFUL bargains there, especially on jeans!

    Happy hunting!

I used to love our local once Upon A Child. If you are purchasing stuff- sometimes you can get a good deal- otherwise I don't suggest selling your stuff to them! Our store used to be great about giving you 50% of what they are planning to sell it for, but the last time I took things there I got very little money back (almost $50 for a basket full of toys and 1.5 baskets of clothes)- I stopped in a few days later to kill sometime before an apointment and noticed that a few of my items that they had out (a few toys, and a few outfits) were on the shelf for almost $200 and that was not all of the items that they purchased from me! Sorry for the rant, but if you want to sell your stuff that the baby grows out of I suggest Craigslist!

I don't like once upon a child either...they rip you off so bad.

good luck i'm sure you will find good stuff.

once i started buying jeans at the goodwill for 5 or 6 bucks (when its not a sale day) i can't bear the thought of paying full price, plus they are so comfy and already broken in. its also an excellent place to get designer type sweaters for cheap cheap

Remember that it's hit or miss. If you don't find anything, try again next week.

I used to go into these shops only to purchase work clothes for my husband. One day I ran across a pair of Easy Spirit sneakers that looked like they had never been worn. They fit perfectly and cost a whopping $3.98. I was HOOKED

I've also found that with clothes, I find nothing several times, then in one trip I will find 3 or 4 items I love. My guess is maybe they come from the same person... someone with the same taste as me, getting rid of stuff in that size, that is practically brand new (I'm fussy about that too!).

Enjoy... it's kind of like a sport
