CPK Diapers
(I came up with this idea because I am not willing to waste money on useless toys)
If your daughter has a Cabbage Patch Kid, chances are they like to play mommy & change it's diapers. Don't waste your money on the CPK brand play diapers! They have tape fasteners that are useless the first time they get stuck on something, such as the wrong part of the diaper(which just tears apart) or carpet and clothing. Then they have to be thrown away & guess what? You're stuck paying $7 for a new 4-pack. What a rip off!
They know little kids will destroy them faster than you can buy them!
Instead go to the infants department and get some real Premie sized diapers with velcro fasteners! I bought a 20-pack of Pampers Swaddlers for about $8!
Not only is this MUCH cheaper than buying the CPK play diapers, they have nice velcro fasteners that don't stick to themselves or everything else you own
They are also made of a cloth-like material that doesn't tear easily! My daughter got her CPK on Christmas 2005 and has only gone through 8 diapers! That's a dang good deal if you ask me! Especially since that one diaper that comes with the doll was destroyed within hours!
You may even be able to get cute premie or NB sized outfits off the clearance racks instead of getting those expensive CPK outfits. I haven't tried this yet though.Last edited by RJsGrl; 07-25-2007 at 08:21 PM.

I did the same thing. Those stupide cpk diapers are rediculous. Or better yet you could just send away for a free Huggies sample and us that. I gave my dd one diaper and made her use it a million times.

Aw, that's a cool idea too!
I also went on ebay and got a vintage CPK diaper bag and doll sized sleeping bag set for pretty cheap! I couldn't believe I was the only one who bid on it! It is exaclty like one I had when I was a kid

I bought preemie baby outfits for my daughters' dolls when they were younger. They liked them better than the "real" doll clothes at Target!

I have boys, so I don't get to play with the dolls ~ BUT my SIL has a 6 yr old daughter - SIL works at Walmart - she will buy "matching" outfits for both
Doll = baby clothes
Daughter = matching outfit.
I'll see if I can find a picture of them from Easter (they had matching dresses)Don't Breed or Buy While Shelter Pets Die

Even better, why not buy a preemie sized CLOTH diaper with velcro to use. About $10 and lasts FOREVER. I'm sorry but putting diapers on a doll and then throwing them out is very wasteful.

You're right, it is a bit wasteful. But it's fun for them & sometimes you do have to spoil them just a little
