I thought I blew it
My grocery budget that is.
First I did the Walgreen's trips, then we went to Sam's club (eggs, yeast, bulk spices, etc), then the commissary, the local grocery store's loss leaders. I thought for sure I went over. I stocked WAY up and came in just under my budget. I have $5 left for the rest of the month lol.
But the nice thing is, I won't need to grocery shop for *at least* three weeks. The only thing I could conceivably run out of in three weeks is milk (forgot to get more powdered too), cat litter, and fresh fruits. I'm hoping to stretch it to 4 weeks just so I can get into a rhythm of my classes & the kids being back to school to figure out when I'm going to be able to get groceries.

My stockpile is getting low and I had a nightmare the other night that a hurricane (its hurricane season here) came through and I didn't have enough food for our family. I plan on stocking the pantry to full this weekend!

I need to start replenishing my stockpile. I need to get ready for fall and winter with baking supplies. I also need to try to stockpile some household supplies. I haven't bought dishwashing liquid in over a year--I'm on my last bottle of my supply I got for next to free with sales and coupons.

Yes, but did yours say "on your next "back to school" shopping trip"? Doesn't that make you think it's only going to be $10 off school supplies? if so that peeves me off!
Our Price Chopper had the pop tarts for 89c/box. I got 13 boxes. I told the kids, I'm opening ONE box a week. There's eight in there, they can each have two through out the week. When they are all gone, you have to wait until next Wednesday for another box
I didn't get the Turkey Hill pints of ice cream ...they were sold out
Although I did come close to blowing it (and come to think of it, I probably will go over because I'm going back to Walgreens on Friday or Saturday) A LOT of the stuff will last us a month or more. The school snacks will definitely last us a month. The yeast will last us nearly a year (4lbs of it), the eggs (7.5dz) will last us nearly 2 mos.
I've started baking my own bread so I only got 2 loaves of store bought bread for emergencies when I don't have time to bake bread.

ETA: I just checked my coupon. It says "Save $10 off your next Purchase of School Supplies". That pisses me off. The sales flier & the signs in the store did not say that the $10 off was to be used for school supplies. It only said "receive a $10 coupon off your next shopping trip".

Boogiemum,
I am originally from Central Florida and know your nigthmare all too well. I was still in Florida in 2004 when the 4 hurricanes came through.
3 came right over my little town! My Mom still lives there (as well as the rest of my family), and I want them to always be prepared for the worse. It's always good to be prepared for disasters where ever you live!

Mine did say that too..but I used it to get my TP for free..If the cashier had said anything I would of said get me the manager please...You shouldn't have any problem useing it on anything you want as it doesn't state anything at all about only off school supplies in their flyer..Stick to your guns they have to honor it...
P.S. In case you didn't know(regarding PriceChopper Sugar) you can seperate your order if there is a limit...I do it all the time..HTH??Wife to Keith

You guys have done really well. I am just beginning to stockpile things, and I really love it. I find it so much cheaper to buy extras when they are on sale. It also saves the stress of having to run out for something that has gotten low.

You did awesome. Congrats on a job well done. It sure gives your system a boost when things turn out better than you anticipate.
Talking about Florida and hurricanes. My mom, age 75, lives in Ft. Myers. Every year she makes the trek to Ga.(where my sister lives) and here to Va. where I am. For 6-8 weeks she is between the two houses. While she is here she replenishes her stockpile. She left here yesterday heading for home and the backend of her vehicle (suv style) was stuffed full of boxes of food that no way she could buy down there for the prices she paid up here.
