CVS
I'm fairly new to how CVS extracare works. On my account details it states that I have $20.07 point balance..end date 09/16/2007. What does this mean? Is it stored on my card? I am so confused. Do I need receipts for this? Someone please help... I need cvs for dummies.

CVS is a chain drug store like Rite Aid or Walgreen's. CVS EXtra Care is the discount card program. They scan your card and you get advertised discounts and Extra Care Bucks back on certain items. Extra Care Bucks are printed at the end of your reciept and are used like cash in the store in future purchases on almost everything except items like alcohol, tobacco, lottery, and prescription meds. The point balance is just showing you what you have spent on certain items for the quarter. At the end of every quarter Extra Care Bucks will print out based on the amount you spent over the quarter on certain items. The only part of your reciepts you need to keep (so you can use them later)are the Extra care bucks that print out and the coupons that print out if you plan to use them. The rest of the reciept you can trash. WWW.CVS.COM has a FAQ section about the Extra Care program.

O.K., I've been avoiding CVS in favor of Walgreen's, but I think now I'll get a card. With using coupons on sale items, this could really pay off.

i was the same way. i always went to walgreens. it is so close to my house. but when i started looking for free and cheep stuff on the internet, i found great forums.and most of them have cvs pages. they show you how to save money there. they also have coupons for $$ amounts that walgreens does not have.a card is a must have!! register it on line for great printables. they will send you coupons in the mail too. they take all kinds of coupons.and there brands work just fine.i am able to go there after looking in the net and my coupon book with a list and coupons and cvs $$off q's and pay next to nothing. so yup i havent been to walgreens in almost 1 month because i have found better deals. btw most of the stuff i get there is FREE. we do not need toothpaste for a long time. in 2 trips we got7 tubes free!!soap,shampoo,wipes...the list goes on. the ebc's are great because it is like free money to go shopping again.walgreens around here offer nothing close in terms of $$ off.so now i go on mondays with list and q's in hand..and come out with at least 2 bags of free name brand stuff that we can actually use!!
