    Cool Frugal living~~~NOT!

Okay I just clicked my way into $62 worth of books from Amazon!

Well I did get 9 books!

I don't really have a problem with it because...

    A. It is READING.
    B. I share with my sisters and one of my sisters will trade them at the used book store and then share what she gets with me.
C.It is budgeted in under entertainment.

Anyone else have a little Amazon "habit"?

I totally understand when it comes to reading! I found myself spending too much at Amazon as well. I joined www.paperbackswap.com and found that I was about to get the books I really wanted a whole lot cheaper. If you've never been there, you should check it out!

Here's another vote for Paperback Swap. It serves two purposes for me: first I get books for just the cost of postage (currently about $2.50 I think) and second, it allows me to clear clutter and send books to those who will enjoy them. I don't often re-read books, so this works great for me.

Oh, I'm terrible with buying books! I could just live in a bookstore!

Books are my downfall. If I see a good book in the store, I just can't pass it up. I've ordered from Amazon, too. I was just thinking about going over there and seeing if I can get a book that I can't find anywhere else.

If I get a really good book, I like to keep it and re-read it again later.

I love bookstores. No one will go to a bookstore with me because I "Get Lost" and can wander for hours. the worst is I work next to a Borders Books. I am always in there wandering. I love to go through the discounted stacks. It is too easy to drop some money in there

I have a book habit too. I buy on sale or secondhand. Usually Amazon or a local bookstore (20% off sale). BUT the material I use is not trash pulp fiction...rather it's more esoteric and specialized material on fibre arts and stitching. So it's hard to turn up most places (including paperbackswap, which I just checked). I also pick them up at library book sales.

I have a yarn/anything knitting related habit. I've been good for the last couple of weeks. I haven't ordered or bought ANYTHING knitting related. I'm on a yarn diet. No more until after the holidays *gulp*

I LOVe LOVE LOVE books. I've been into non fiction lately. But this summer I read 10 books, fiction, in one week while camping. Read when the littlest as napping. Bought those at a garage sale, I think 20 for $3. So I still have more. I have to make time for me, and snoop in our used book stores around here, get to know when they have sales. But when I hear of a book. I want it NOW. OOPS. I'll have to learn.

Yes, I have a bit of an Amazon habit. And with free shipping for everything over $25, it's too easy to keep adding things to my cart.

I have a $5-off coupon code because I pre-ordered the last Harry Potter book. It's only good until Aug. 31st. I'm dying to use it, but I know that I really shouldn't spend the money since we're about to have two huge insurance deductibles...

    how about a library instead?

I work in a bookstore and my list of books that I want just grows and grows... and I get discounts too! but because of my budget, I'm determined to get as many books from the library as I can, instead of buying them. I've only bought two books at the store where I work, so far--one because I borrowed and accidentally damaged it, lol, and one because it's hard to find.

The worst thing is textbooks! I had to pay $170 for ONE book last week. And it's not even anything special...

i signed up with titletrader.com in july and love it. for shipping i have only needed a envenlope about $1.50 for 2 at the $ store and 3 .32 cent stamps to send. so its about $1.82 for me. so far from there ive gotten 2 power rangers tapes and im waiting on another one along with selena's dreaming of you cd and a nsync video tape. right now im trying to read fast food nation. just got done reading nickel and dimed. i finish fast food nation i will take it back to the library and start on the da vinci code again.
