    Default Blah - Money Issues

Ok - I've just had the most stressful week I've had in a long time. Firstly, at work we are grouped into teams - so when one person is out, you have two people covering for you. One person in my team was on vacation this week, and her biggest account was going totally crazy, my biggest account was going totally crazy, and on Friday the other member of our team called in sick so I had to handle everything. Argh! We ended up eating out TWICE this week because I was just too stressed to cook or even plan meals. On Thursday, I got a bill in the mail from the hospital for the birth of my son - mind you, he's 11 months old now - for $954. Are you kidding me?! I come home for lunch on Friday to visit DH and DS (because I really needed cheering up) and my car gets me home but is now sitting dead in the parking lot when I come back out. We're thinking that it's the starter, but now I have an auto repair bill coming. And as icing on the cake, DH had to go to yet another going away party for a co-worker that left the company (5 in the last three weeks) and the rumor has it that on Sept. 5th they'll be doing layoffs, and supposedly they'll cut HALF the people there. DH does computer tech stuff, and they've already cut back-up system "to save on the electric bill" and switched a bunch of things over to new systems - which generally adds up to something really bad coming our way.

Sorry, I've just been pulling my hair out over this - I guess it's the old when it rains it pours bit - this is extra paycheck month, but we just spent it on the washer and dryer. We do have money in the bank for our down payment on a house fund, so we're not going to have to take on additional debt for this, but - well - GRRRRR!!! It also makes me glad that we've shuffled some bills around lately and lowered a bunch of our fixed monthly expenses.

I am sorry that everything is happening all at once! It's great that proper planning has at least relieved you of the stress of further debt, but i can understand how frustrating it all is.

Hope things work out well for DH at work as well

Sara, sorry to hear that everything is happening all at once. Hopefully your DH won't be the one layed-off if his employer starts cut backs. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

No wonder you're stressed out. A potential layoff situation would make anyone nervous. Can you work out some sort of monthly payment situation with the hospital bill?

Hey Sara...so sorry you're having a rough week. Hopefully Murphy will hit the road soon!!

I agree...maybe the hospital would work out a payment plan? That could ease the budget...

    Sending hugs!!

Oh, when it rains in pours. Keep your chin up, this too shall pass. Hopefully it will work out.

    Default Been there, done that...

IT is almost always feast or famine. Science fiction, what I've done most of my adult life is too.... DH is in IT.

So I understand, believe me, I do.

At least you have some savings, that's better than where we were the last time DH got laid off.

Since my DH is in IT in NH and you're in MA, if you want or need another networking contact, feel free to PM me what your DH does. If it fits anyplace I know, I'll be happy to let you know that. My DH does tech support for document imaging. So that's where a lot of the people/jobs etc. we know are, but not all.. He's also been a programmer/analyst, etc. You know the drill.

God it sounds like you had a terrible week. Aren't you glad it's over? Next week will almost certainly not be so bad....

    Many blessings and good luck!
