    Default Sort of cheated today

Didn't get to make anything to take to work today, because I was at work until midnight, then went in at 10, so I was to tired to make anything last night, and slept in this morning, so I didn't make anything then either.

BUT we had Stouffers frozen entrees on sale for $2 ea. at work, so I got a fettuccine alfredo, ate some grapes I had stored in the frig at work (.99/lb on sale) and drank water. I needed something filling to eat, because I only had two slices of toast with butter for breakfast. I felt guilty a little, because I could have gotten a small pot pie for much less, but I wasn't in the mood for pot pie.

I'm going in at 1:30 tomorrow, so definitely will be taking my meal with me. I'll probably make a salad, as I have lettuce that needs to be used up. I have plenty of dressings bought BOGO, so that will kinda make up for today.

I have three days off next week, because I'm working on Monday (Labor Day), and get double time, so I get an extra day off. I'm going to cook some crockpot meals and bag and freeze them for lunches for next week on Saturday. I have plenty of stuff around here I could make, lots of meat in the freezer.

Sometimes you can't help the situation you are presented. I think you were still very frugal about it!

I think that was a good price. Now cheating would have been a 10.00 lunch out or a new coach purse.

I think that was pretty frugal and delicious lunch. I love the Stouffer's entrees. Their meatloaf is delicious.

Thanks for the support. With the money situation like it is for the next two weeks, I'm just conscious of every penny.

I got a shutoff notice from the power company. Now I can go get Social Services to pay it, which I am doing in the morning.

I think you did great, considering an arbys combo or similar would have set you back almost 6 bucks. You were frugal under the circumstances.

To me cheating is purposely forgetting a homemade lunch in order to have to buy something else.

I think you did the best under the immediate circumstances, and maybe in the future you can plan ahead by have several easy to grab lunches made in advance.

I know what you mean about too tired and no time. Every Friday I get off at 11 pm, and have to be back in at 9 the next morning - until June it was worse, I had to be back at 8. It is really hard to manage much with those hours and often I end up picking up something too. But you were frugal -- a lot more than I sometimes end up being!

A $2 meal when you worked too late at night to cook and then needed to sleep before going in is hardly cheating. I think you did extremely well for buying a lunch!
