Grocery shopping trip today
I like to see what other people buy and how much they pay, so I thought others might be interested in my trip today. I shop the sales to fill my pantry, so it is in no way exactly what we are eating this week, it is just what we needed and what was on sale.
1.34 pounds Boneless skinless chicken breasts $5.27 - sale price $2.67
1.32 pounds BSCB $5.35 - sale price $2.63
(5) 28 oz Bush's baked beans - $1.79 - sale price $1.00 each
(4) 36 oz Heinz Ketchup $2.59 - sale price $1.50 each (there was also a different shape of Heinz that had 32 oz on sale for $1.50 - why would anyone buy that one when they could get 4 oz more for the same price? I know plenty of people will though)
(4) pounds store brand butter $2.99 - sale price $1.99 each
Nestle break and bake brownies $2.99 - sale price $2.00 - I caved on this one, wasn't planned
(6) store brand 8 oz hunks of cheese $2.69 - sale price $1.68 - wasn't the greatest price, but I was out of cheese and who can tell what is a great sale these days?
Maple Flavoring - $3.99
(2) Silk soy yogurts $.99 each
(4) 8 count Kelloggs Poptarts $2.00- sale price $1.33 each, plus I had $1.00 off 2 coupons - total was $.83 each - I needed these to complete one of the $10 rebates I am doing
Thomas bagels $3.49 - sale price $2.50
(4) dozen medium eggs - $1.45 - sale price $.88 each
(4) Jiffy apple cinnamon muffin mix $.69 each - sale price $.50 each
green pepper $.99 - sale price $.50
onion $.90
10 ears of corn $4.00 - sale price $2.00
bunch of celery $1.49 - sale price $1.29
4 Pink lady apples - $1.29 a pound - $2.66 total
Total spent $63.00 even. I got some good deals and things that I needed were actually on sale like the beans and the ketchup. That is always nice when that happens. Just thought I would share!Jennifer

Good job!!
I can't say anything about the bagels....after having real bakery bagels, I cannot eat the frozen or pre-made store ones. They taste like sponges to me. We buy the bakery bagels which are $6.40/dozen when not on sale. I stock up when they are $3.20/dozen.
