Question Well, I got my $0.09 tuna yesterday...

and it was so funny. I went to a Target in New Bern, NC. They had lots of Star-Kist on the shelves. So I knew right away that no one around there had heard of this deal. I had only printed 5 coupons a couple of weeks ago. That's plenty for me. So I went for it.

Boy, was that cashier perplexed. First of all, she read the coupon three times. Then she had one of those walkie talkies on her hip. So she called her manager. What a trip! (My nephew was with me and was really impressed, too. I think it was a good frugality lesson for him as well.) It was just so funny. I got 5 cans for $0.46! I didn't even have any change and paid with a twenty. She just handed me my change in a stack. Well, when people do that, I always count it right then and there. Well, that upset her too, "What? Didn't I give you back the right change?" Just too funny!

Then we went to Wal-Mart. I had some coupons that were expiring soon. So I wanted to take care of those. Well, I had two coupons I had printed off the internet (Coupons.com). She took those, made a face, scanned them, and then said, "Did these come off your computer?" I said, "Yes." She said, "Well, we are not supposed to take those." And then she just put them in the drawer. Hilarious! She scanned them and the register accepted them and then she tells me they aren't supposed to take them but she takes them?!?! Oh well, I am going to use them in the future as well. Does anyone know if Wal-Mart has a policy against internet printed coupons??

I also just wanted to say thanks to all you guys for the tip about the tuna. It really was a GREAT deal, and I love tuna!

Well, I found the policy on the internet

I have always had fair to good experiences with WalMart. The woman was not rude to me. It just seemed weird that she said they weren't supposed to take them and then she did. Anyway, I guess I will print this out and carry it in my purse in case I have real trouble next time.

That 9 cent tuna deal was great, wasn't it? Whenever I make tuna salad, my cats are screaming at my feet for their own share of tuna. We'd had some major house repairs done a few weeks ago, and the cats had to be boarded. To make it up to them, I'd promised them some tuna. When I opened the tuna, I'd accidentally bought a can of tuna in oil. I gave them that tuna because I thought the oil might help them with hairballs, but they didn't like it.

So, after I went to Target for the 9-cent tuna, I opened a can just for the cats. I didn't feel wasteful to devote an entire can just to them when that can was only 9 cents!

Oh, and last week at CVS, I saved over $30 with coupons, AND I got $15 back in extra-care bucks! This coupon stuff is kind of fun!
