Default Anyone else get paid weekly?

Dh company is going to weekly payments in the New Year.

I'm a little confused as to the benefits of doing that will be. It'll cost them more in payroll...lol.

If you're paid weekly, do you like it? I'm trying to guestimate how much each check will be. In some ways it'll be nice to have money weekly but mortgage is paid bi-weekly. So 1/2 will need to set aside each week, as will insurance and other payments. I need to keep a close eye on everything. I'm so used to bi-weekly, this is going to challenge me for awhile. I'm going to need to write out how much I need to keep in the account every week so I don't over transfer. Arggghhh..just when you things running smooth...

Dh has weekly. I have bi weekly at my pt job. I think it is easier to budget weekly but I'm sure it is just because that is what I'm used too.

Just reading this mad me think of this one thing: If youre used to biweekly paychq's why not leave the $$$ in the account untouched (if its direct deposit) or do not deposit the chq's until you have 2?

I worked full time up until about a month ago... It was a weekly paycheck. Dh temps (while he's going to school) and that's a weekly paycheck.

We found we actually like it because we can send "extra" payments to our debts more often and there's just something encouraging about watching debts go down week by week.

Before that we were on bi-monthly paychecks...it didn't take too long to adjust.

We've been bi-weekly for the past 6 years until recently. Dh's new job pays weekly. I gotta admit.. I love it!! It's like every time you turn around you get another paycheck. Love being able to see what we can send to savings every week.

Yeah, it'll take some getting used to. If you do the bi-weekly mortgage thing just set 'x' aside weekly to cover that. Same for other stuff. Once you get that figured it should run smoothly. But I think you'll live getting paid weekly. Seems like when we were bi-weekly it was FOREVER between paydays, I wanted to pay on debt, like, every day and having to wait two weeks was sheer torture!! haha

    Bring on them baby steps...
    Step 1: done
Step 2: waiting on amount, hubby had followup colonoscopy, I had visit to ER with followup procedure
Step 3: to follow, won't know aim until things settle
Step 4: to follow, currently at 6%
    Step 5: grown child
    Step 6: huge mortgage ANNIHILATED!!
    Step 7: ahhhh....

I also temp and get paid weekly. It's nice but you do have to be careful. It does get really easy to feel like the money flow is endless and you can just spend spend spend. Im actually thinking of using a seperate notebook as a ledger and keep track of every eeensy weeeensy time I spend money. That way at the beginning of each month I write down all my exspenses for that month and I'll be able to plan ahead better. Also keep track of how i'm spending my money.

I get paid weekly/daily. My tips are the bulk of my pay and the check is usually under $20 so I don't rely on it for much. I have a plastic coupon book that I have labled with different bill catagories so I can budget the money.

we get paid weekly too. i think its easier because if the paycheck is short, or you have a lot of bills this week, you know you only have 7 more days until the next one comes in. you dont have to scrimp for 2 weeks until the next one. but they told us we would be going to every 2 weeks sometime in the future. i sure hope not, i really dont want to adjust.
