Thumbs up fruits & veggies in a frugal budget

Here's a cool post about how fruits and veggies are frugal foods when you consider their return for the money spent, and how to fit them into a budget.

I enjoyed reading that, thanks! I love catching a good sale on frozen fruits and adding them to cereal & pancakes.

Fruit and Veg is one area where I don't try to save on. I spend around $30 to $40 a week on fruit and veg and lucky enough, I have a DD that eats up to 3 pieces of fruit a day.

    I'm the same way
My diet is mostly based on fruits/veggies so I don't skimp. I, of course, get them on sale when I can - but if they aren't on sale I still buy 'em

Thanks for the post. Usually I find most articles on the subject are the same old information, but she really added some new things I hadn't heard - and wasn't afraid to tell you to go look stuff up on the internet rather than listing every tip out there.

This is an area I need to work on. In the summer we were pretty good about stopping by the local farm stand on the way home, but it's harder in the winter.

Thanks for the post. In a way she is right. I have to have my veggies with supper every night. Most are frozen. For the last 6 months I have been buying frozen fruit (raspberries with strawberries, mixed fruit, and blueberries). It lasts longer and I can have a fruit smoothie whenever I want.
