Default Sears has bed warmer mattress pads on sale half price

and lots of other stuff too. Just thought I'd give a heads up if you've been holding out for a new electric blanket or mattress pad.

Good to know! DD got a new (bigger) bed this summer and her old (twin) heated mattress pad doesn't fit.

Just wondering what the upkeep is on an electric blanket vs a mattress warmer. I.e. how do you wash them?? I'm not decided which we are going to get.

I've never heard of an electric mattress pad (I don't go into the stores very much!). Can someone explain how it works...how is the pad heated, are you laying on wires? And how do you/can you wash it?

Thanks for the post. I ordered one online since I have been looking and looking. The puppy chewed the cord on mine and runied it. Also got a new Christmas tree for 25.00. Spent money but not more than I had budgeted so I dont feel too bad about it!

I figure that heated mattress pads are more efficient than blankets ... because ... well, heat rises.

I LOVE our heated mattress pad. I don't know how we lived so long without it. The wires are distributed throughout the pad, but you really can't feel them. I warm ours up about an hour before going to bed. We gave one to both sets of parents for Christmas and they love them as well. Too bad I didn't catch a sale, but even at full price they were well worth the money.

They are very easy to wash. My sweet dog got sick and on mine. DH read the instructions and followed them with no problems. He said he had to wash it on gentle cycle then took two chairs and draped it across it to dry(did this to help retain the shape). We are in the deep south so we were able to dry it outside under the back porch (this happened two weeks ago and it was still very warm outside). Once it was dry, he put it back on the bed and it was as good as new.

I have never been able to please my inlaws 100% with a gift - well that all changed this year. We bought them one and my MIL called in sick to work 2 days in a row because she loved the warmer so much she did not want to get out of bed.

    They are soooo wonderful!!!
