Have to share my hubby's new found frugality...

With my hubby and 2 boys in the house, our playstation 2 gets used ALOT. I bought it for my hubby about 7 years ago, and it was refurbished then, so we got alot of use out of it!

Well, the friday before Christmas, it totally died on him. And wouldn't you know it...Christmas came and hubby and both boys, got tons of new games to play! So, after some heated words about wants vs. needs, and my kindly reminding him that we are trying to save money on "non-essentials", we decided "together"

that he could buy a "new" used one, if he could find a good deal. This was my compromise...because he would have bought a new one, if given the chance.

So, he went to one of the places that sells used ones, and got it on sale for $69.00. Ok, I thought, too much...but not horrible. Then he tells me the best part. He took his old broken one in to them. He explained that it was broken, skipping, not playing games, etc. And they still gave him a $50 store credit for it.

So the total he spent on the new one???? A total of $19! WooHoo! I was expecting a much bigger dent in our budget, so I was happy to see the total!

I think there is some hope for him to become frugal, yet!

wow, great score!!! WTG!! Isn't it great when the dhs get on board. Mine does more and more and I love when it happens.

Thats great! Now you both are happy.

We still have the regular nintendo..tetris nad super mario bros. Just had to replace connector once in last 15 years! We love that more then our used playstation one.

Yes.. thats a good bargain..I wish all men was like your Dh. I hope they enjoy their $19.00 bargain.

That is fantastic!! My guys only play the 360. Ours died three days after Christmas!! We ran it nearly everyday for 3 years!! We had to get a new one to, but not that great of deal - WTG!!
