How much is your monthly home phone bill?
I'm with SBC and I recieved my phone bill yesterday and saw that it was $87.00!!
Before I just pay it I wanted to go through it with a fine toothed comb. I have caller id, call waiting, voicemail, call waiting id...this package is like $25.00!! I'm also with the Universal Lifeline which gives me a special discount, but I don't see it??
I have learned a great wealth of information from this forum. I'm trying to find ways to make it a lot cheaper for me.
I wanted to know what phone service does everyone have, how much is your phone bill per month, and what features do you have for your phone service?
Thank you to everyone in advance.

We have one phone line, caller ID and some long distance service that costs $1 a month. Our bill is always $38.XX. We have AT&T, formerly SWB.
We did have all the call notes and whatnot, but it was just a waste of money. I went to Walmart and bought a cordless phone that has a digital answering machine for $25.Nicole, Mom of 4 ages 6-16~

I have Comcast with a bundle package, including cable and internet. I pay $49 per month. They include everything in this one price: caller id, call waiting, voicemail.
I would prefer they offer a cheaper price and not include all those extras
.
I have a cable show I love, and it is ending in March. At that time I'm going to cancel the pay channel and re-evaluate everything!

We have our DSL, cable and phone service all as a bundle and we pay about $90 per month. It is high but we live in a rural area where we would not be able to have DSL without going through a local mom and pop company so we use them and pay the higher price. It is nice to be able to call them and have them know us by name and be at our home to fix any problems within an hour or so of a call.

~$18.50 month here, no extras. Do you have dial-up internet? Is it possible that it's dialing a long-distance number? Just an idea.~

$65 a month with voicemail (have to have since we have dial up internet and we would miss tons of calls) but no long distance or any other extras.

Since other people have mentioned their internet, I have cable internet so it does not require a phone line. I wanted to get DSL, (mucho cheaper) but it required a home phone, and we couldn't decide if it would cost more to get a phone + DSL or to get cable....so we just got cable.

I just bundled my phone service in with my cable and internet, so the phone is $33 per month. I don't have long distance - I use the cell phone for that because it's free.

I have the RCN phone and internet bundle and with taxes and stuff it's about $78 a month, divide that by 2 so our phone is roughly $39 a month, even if we cut features it would stay the same + we have unlimited long distance.
