Question for JALCCLARK
Okay so I am curious, you have to pay $19 a week for a four year olds lunch? Read it in the grocery challenge, or is it a month? I can't imagine paying that much. Can you send your own lunch with her? Just WOSIE! hope it is okay to ask.
BTW Hi I am Kindred, alot of folks know me from other boards. I hope I haven't come across too nosey. lol

I think I remember you from another board.ANyways yep its $19 a WEEK ouch huh.Which made our grocery budget go way up to $69 a week.Nope she can't bring her own lunch. She goes to a day school for her prek(which is georgia funded-meaning no cost to us at all, except lunches)and the director has tried to have them bring lunches before but some parents would actually send in a candy bar and coke for lunch(nutritous huh)ANyways the $19 covers breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks for the week, bad part is if they miss a day you stil pay.
They passed out a form for everyone to fill out for government assistance and is only 20% of the students qualified the whole prek qualified(there are 60 kids in 3 classes)So if just 12 kids qualified then everyone would.Bad thing is half of the parents didn't even turn them in.WE don't qualify though.HOpe this helped.Next year she will take her lunch.

WOW!! Hope it's ok for me to butt in here

Katie goes to an Alabama funded(no cost to us) pre-k M-F 7:45-1:30 and breakfast, lunch, and 1 snack is included.
It's funny how each state is diff like that. $19 is expensive. I'm glad I don't have to pay that cause I know Katie doesn't eat $19 worth of food a week lol
Sorry for butting in

Where Zachary goes now the parents bring in snack. We have a snack calendar and I bring snack/juice twice a month. He's only there for 2.5 hrs though.
$19/wk is a lot. It seems school lunches are really getting costly.
I'd be asking for a doggie bag. Kidding here. Just trying to make light of an expensive situation. I'm glad at least you aren't paying for school on top of that.

Well i guess the good thing is that mine and cannons lunches will be free and since he is only $1 and hour it kinda makes up for the cost, think of all the groceries i'll be saving on if no one is eating at home except for dinner(woohoo)
