Yes Shell. I've watched all the shows. They're great! They are the inspiration for my Money Makeover thread on Goals and Dreams board. DH even watched a few with me. It's helped us a lot just to realize how immature our attitudes towards money were.

Yep, it depresses me all the time, lol. No, really it is inspiring and I admire people that can bear all and go on the show. I almost applied to go on the show, but my husband said "no way, I don't want my friends and family to see how bad we are with money!" and besides he knows that the first thing Gail would say is to sell the skidoo (which I agree with and have been saying forever) and he absolutely REFUSES to do so.

I only looked for a bit, but it seems really interesting. Have to fully check it out when I can focus a bit more...

I love the show. I didn't know about his website though....thanks! I always wondered how she figured out what went in the jars!

watchingpennies: She figures out a monthly budget, multiples by 12 (months) and divides by 52 (weeks) and that's what you get in your jars each week.

But as for figuring out the actual budgets - man, she's wicked! Sometimes I think she's overly generous, but the time she made the family go without food money for a week was a real eye-popper. She introduced them to the food bank and working for food. An object lesson was learned no doubt.
