Just when things were looking up...
Alex had his interview this past weekend with a company in a town that we love, in a job he would love. Things went well, but he has to attend a surgery (part of the job, selling orthopedic umm...doohikeys) to make sure that he can stomach it. We're excited about it and all, but it was kind of disheartening to find out that there are a few more hoops for him to jump through before he gets hired which puts us not moving for at least a month or two.
So that would be fine, but Alex is so miserable in his job. He came home today and said he had talked to his mom and he wants to quit his current job once he gets another one lined up. He loves working with food, so he plans to go back to waiting tables until we find out about the other job. I support him completely because I don't believe in working in a job that makes you unhappy...but it's just so....so... I don't even know what word to use. We were already barely affording everything, so him going back to waiting tables is really going to set us back. I honestly have no idea how we're going to afford to live.
argh.
Sorry, I think I just needed to vent about this.

Hmm...if he likes waiting on tables...can he not move up into working for people catering big events? I had a friend a long time ago (okay 27 years ago!) who made a ton of money waiting for the big caterers in town. When Prince Andrew came, he waited on him. He was well paid! And the tips were awesome. Just a thought...
So sorry this has come at such a bad time for you. I do hope he gets the job he is applying for.
