Default What Deals I've Gotten This Week

I religiously review craigslist and freecycle daily (or sometimes many times a day if I'm looking for something in particular). I have gotten some really neat stuff from there.... these are my finds for this week:

On Monday, I got a living room set -- sofa and chair. It needs new legs put on, nothing major as far as I'm concerned, but the fabric is in very good shape. The roommate's furniture was almost thread-bare so this really helped out!! Tomorrow I pick up a few picture frames -- 1 collage (multi-picture type frame) and 2 child-themed frames which are going to be baby gifts since two of my neighbors recently had babies.

Tonite I found a used gas clothes dryer on craigslist. It was only $30 (they were selling washer (broken) and dryer for $40 -- I told them they could keep the washer). Roommate's dryer 'bit-the-big-one' right around Christmas and it's been killing our pocket books drying our clothes at the laundry-mat, even when we've been washing them at home and lugging them to the laundry-mat to be dried. I figure the $30 for the 'new' dryer is cheaper than our 2 trips to the laundry-mat.

Also, a few weeks ago we found a guy who installed a custom hitch on our van for $120. We need the hitch so we can haul the U-Haul trailer when we move (hopefully at the end of this month). We thought that was a deal since the parts alone (used from the salvage yard at that) were going to cost us nearly $50.

Anyways.... just thought I'd share. If you've never tried these sites out.... you've got to... it's well worth it.

I check out both daily myself. Me are in the market for a futon for the spare bedroom and a corner hutch for the kitchen, so I'm on those two sites often!

Great deals BTW! Especially on the dryer.

Sounds like you've really made a haul with Craigslist lately. Good for you! I love the idea of recycling things that still have so much life left in them.

ive found really great bookshelves on craigslist, its always surprising how cheap and how close people happen to be when theyre trying to get rid of stuff.

I need to find a wooden futon to replace our (curb rescued) couch. I'll check out my local CL.

I'm waiting for the reply back for freecycle for acceptance . Just joined today. I'm going to be looking for chairs and a love seat over the summer. If I cant maybe yard sales.

    Thumbs up

I LOVE craigslist! I got a BEAUTIFUL dresser that matched my current furniture perfectly for FREE! A lady was clearing out her mother's house and my DBF needed a futon and bookshelf, so we went to see what she had. We ended up getting a very nice futon, perfect size bookshelf and the dresser all for free!
