New salvation army in our city
I am so excited. They just opened a new one here and it's huge and so nice. Is the Salvation Army in your city nice or run down?
We have two. The old one here is a bit dirty, but still worth browsing.
I picked up two newborn jammies for .99 each. They look brand new. Not a huuuuge bargain, but still better than retail.

We have one in the smaller city about 1 hr. from here. Not too bad and I've gotten like new clothing there.
In the city 3 hours from here, all their buildings are brand new but since they built new buildings they've raised the prices. I haven't been there in over a year because of their prices.
They use to have smaller buildings and although crowded, you could get nice things for far less. Guess they have to pay for those buildings.
Glad you were able to get a couple of things. Hopefully you can get even more and at good prices.

The Salvation Armys here aren't that nice. I go to Savers, which is another thrift store.
Just went there today as a matter of fact.

I just discovered a new thrift shop that is about ten miles from me. Stopped there for the first time and I lucked out!
They had 50% off all of their clothes. I also got two really pretty quilts. I just love finding a good thrift store.

We have 2 Sally Ann stores here, one is super nice and I go there all the time. It's a bit run down but I love the staff and the selection. Everything is fair prices and marked. It's my top favourite of all the thrift shops in town.
The other one is weird. It's newer and tidier but the staff aren't friendly and they rarely price things. When my friend Gwen asks the price (she looks like the bankers wife she is) the price is higher than if I ask. The selection is awful, i've never found anything in there and have stopped going.
There is a really nice church one run on Tuesdays only by the United church and that is a great place, friendly, jammed with good stuff, untidy but the prices are wonderful and I adore picking thru their stuff.
Then there is Valu Village which is run by the Big Brothers and Sisters people, but their stuff is getting over priced. HOWEVER they do offer a 50% off coupon if you donate so I do and that makes it good.
Then behind the VV boutique as we call it is another one run as a business but it's WAY more pricey. I forget its;' name. HOWEVER it has the BEST selection of used kitchen stuff. I found (didn't buy) a near new ice shaver from Pampered Chef, and they have tupperware and other stuff.
the one run by the downtown mission to addicts and alcoholics is the best next to my favourite Sal. Army one. Great stuff. Great prices. Love them.
Lastly the hospital thrift shop which raises money for the hospital by the ladies auxiliary is very good. I don't mean the auxiliary shop in the hospital, it's a few blocks down the street and in a basement of a business building. VERY good pickings, reasonable prices.
