    Question Cheap Health insurance?

I currently dont have health insurance because I cant afford the premiums. I want to get some type of catastrophic plan or hospital plan. Does anyone know of any companies that offers this and are reputable? What kind of monthly premiums do these plans run?

    TIA!

I had Blue Cross with a $5,000 deductible. They quoted me $109/mo and a month after I started they raised it to $120, then sent me another letter raising the rates again (within 6 months time). I cancelled and use the $120 I would have paid them to pay off my doctor for the $2500 I racked up while I was "insured".

I had a similar experience with Mega Health Insurance on a catastrophic plan. Started out at ~$100/mo, $2500 ded. After a year or so I was up to $200/mo with a $10k ded. I then dropped it and go without.

We have a good clinic in town here for uninsured folks. See if your area has one.

I work for physician's billing for a large hospital and blue cross and united health care are the worst. This is not a recommendation but have you looked into Aflac? I do know that we are contracted with many insurance companies and we give them discounts hence when ask we will give discounts to self pay too upon request and having cash to pay in full certainly perks them up too. It never hurts to ask it's only 20 percent but hey it's $$. We have Aflac for pure peace of mind it's like 40.00 it doesn't cover the routine visits for cough, stomache ache etc but it would help if something devestaing happen that would put dbf in the hospital. As a rule in the office Aflac has been good about paying. We looked into insurance for dbf and it was outrageous 400.00 a month with a 3000.00 ded. I told dbf we are better off putting that 400.00 in savings and having that to pay the dr bill with. We are *knock on wood healthy I think the last time he saw a dr it was for a spider bite and even that ran us just over 300.00 with lab work and all, hardly worth the 400.00 a month. Luckily I have insurance thru work.
