    Default Just got a freezer

On Friday I posted a want ad on Craigslist for a freezer. To my surprise I received 2 responses. I bought a used at 15+cf freezer for $25.00. It is a little worn on the outside but the inside looks great. I need to clean the outside since it was kept in a garage and now it's going to be kept in my basement. Now I hope that the grocery stores will start putting out some good sales. Ii need to save my empty milk gallons and fill with water so I can fill my new freezer.

Great purchase! I love my deep freeze, although sometimes it just gets filled up with "fun" stuff from Sam's Club. It is still great to have when there are sales on meat or veggies. I don't have a garden but I'm sure its invaluable for people who do garden.

My freezer is in the garage. I use it mainly for surplus items. If we bought, say, three bags of frozen chicken I put one bag in the house, and leave the other two in the deep freeze. Then we try and hold off on replacing items until the deep freeze is bare. (that takes effort! it is so tempting to just keep buying)

A wise purchase, my frugal friend, and what a steal of a price!

    Thumbs up

That's great! I "watch" our craigslist frequently! I just recently got 2 Ikea chairs (new $200 each) for $20 each! And they match my living room perfectly! Craigslist is great!

That's a great buy!!! Good for you! I'd like to offer a hint. I fill mine with bags of flour when it gets a little empty. Then when I need more freezer space again I pull the flour out again since it doesn't have to be frozen. This keeps the freezer working better...by keeping it full.

Congrats on a great bargain! You'll soon be wondering how you ever lived without one. I agree about keeping bags of lfour, cornmeal etc. in the freezer. It not only helps to fill-up space, but will kill any wee buggies.
