We live a block away from a gas station and we can see the sign from our living room window. Gas prices have gone up 20 cents in 3 days. Everyone morning a dread looking out the window, because it may mean a price increase. My DH has to use the car for work, so gas is a necessity here. He gets a mileage reimbursement, but that does not go as far as it use to. His employer will not raise it. They are constantly finding ways to save money a the employee's expense, but that is for another post.

Did you all not see the news on Monday that their was a fire at a refinery in TX?

    http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...d5910.html?npc

Whenever you see news like this expect prices to jump in the next 12-36 hours.

Now, that being said, my tank is empty as well..... I knew what was coming but still didn't fill up... grr...

Oh yeah, I remember that now. But, has gas prices always bounced back and forth like this?? 'Cause I don't remember them going up and down 8 or so years ago. Or maybe we didn't notice so much? I'm just looking to hear this on the news "Gas prices up again due to Bobby Joe in Texas getting the flu". It seems anything makes them go up.

Right now I am kicking myself for not buying a Diesel!!

    Why?

Diesel engines can run on used cooking oil... just filter out the french fries first
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Ugh. I'm not even going to look at what prices are here. We've been waiting to fill up the van until payday. With dh starting the new job, it's a little tight. He started Feb 3rd, but doesn't get his first paycheck until Feb 28th

We are paying $1.19 a litre in Quebec city area. The news said last night that it could go as high as $1.50 a litre come Spring time.

It just keeps going up and up. I've been trying to reduce my driving. Can't wait 'til spring because I will be using my bike instead as much as possible!
