    Default Need ideas...

    Ok.... here's the scoop...

My SIL has been having alot of trouble at work and has not been happy for awhile. Today she called to let us know she quit her job. I guess they told her she was not doing her job... when she does all of the Xrays, EKGs, Chemistry and Lab work for this doctors office all by herself. She had just had the last straw and walked out today. She's pretty sad and worried about money. I would be too with 2 kids to support all on your own.

Anyways... shes coming over here tomorrow and I want to have a little surprize here for her. Some little thing to cheer her up. I don't have the money to buy anything, so thought I'd make her something. Any ideas what I can make with things I may have around the house?

I looked into Gifts in a Jar, but I don't have some of the ingredients they call for.

    Help!!!

if you have some of the small candles you could make the candle jar. or give her the encouragement jar, or a couponbook of things you will do for her later.

A candle, some bubble bath and a trashy romance novel in a pretty basket--everyone needs a wasted night every once in a while!

You could make her an encouragement jar along with a dozen muffins and place in a basket for her. An encouragement jar would probably go over real big right now for her.

If you like tea, you could have a tea party with finger sandwiches, little danishes (even just brownies cut up into bite sized pieces), fresh fruit, flowers on the table, lace tablecloth, cloth napkins, fancy teacups (you can get these at a thrift store) etc. Whatever you have around the house to make it cozy, lacy and fru fru. My mom did this for my baby shower, and it was so neat. Something inexpensive/free that would make her feel special.
