Default GC Members - October Goals

Okay ladies, I'm gonna be brave and daring here! Last month I set a goal for $250 and I beat it by only spending $170. This month I'm really gonna challenge myself further by trying to beat $170. This is going to be INCREDIBLY difficult because this Sunday alone is a triple coupons up to .50 week. I'm going to wind up buying a bunch of stuff that we normally wouldn't buy on a regular basis, but will buy because we'll use it and if I can get it with triple coupons, I'm gonna! So, 170 it is! Aaargh!

    October goal: $170
    Current Total: $0.00
Family size: 2 adults, 1 19 month old girl, and 1 98-pound dog
Shop: ShopRite...always double up to .99, but only 4 of the same coupon per visit

This is the first time I have joined in, but I would like to set my goal at $300 for October. We are moving the second weekend and I am currently trying to use up all that I possibly can out of my pantry and fridge. I am sure I will need to buy quite a bit when I make that first shop after moving.

    Wish me luck!

I went over my $250 in September. I will try again to stay below $250. It is very hard sometimes, as my DH will drink 2 gallons of milk a week HIMSELF! So I buy 3 gallons of milk every week.

Hi everyone, I am going to join this challenge. But is the GC member mean grocery club or what? lol
I am going to go for $120 for a family of four. I am budgeting for 3 bushels of apples too for October. We have a very stocked pantry right now and the freezer is buldging so I think we can make it.
UNLESS we manage to go to my favorite Amish store, then we will be spending up to $100 on stockpiling for winter.

Everyone did so good in September! I went over, but I think it's a habit. This month I'm probably going to spend about $15 on formula, I'll need 2 cases of diapers, that's $50... Baby food and cereal, at least $25 probably. I wish that girl would grow some teeth. I can't think of anything else I NEED except hamburger if it comes on sale cheap, along with pork chops and bread. That's only $90.... I know better than that. I'll need milk. I really should be able to do $150 with all the stuff I have on hand.

October Goal: $150, now set in stone
Family size: 1 pregnant female, 1 hungry 10 year old, 1 goofy 8 month old, 1-25# dog, 2 cats.
Location: SW Iowa, NO Doubles except Mon-Sat, 8-10am at the small town grocer who has cut his "sale" flyer from 4 pages to 1.

Okay, well, I'm out. Triple coupons did me in this week. I stocked up on so much stuff, though, that I really only will have to buy produce and milk for the rest of the month. However, my total today was $194.30, which obviously busts my goal of $170 for the month. So, I'm setting a sub-goal. My sub-goal is that even with this shop, I hope to stay under $250 for the rest of the month. That way I'm not cheating and changing my goal, just adding a second goal since I lost on the first.

HOWEVER: I saved BIG with my triple coupons. My total before coupons was $356.05, so to bring it down to $19439 wasn't too bad! Our stockpiles were running low, so we needed EVERYTHING on that list. I'm feeling okay about it, even though I busted out of my goal.

    October goal: $170
    Current Total: $194.39
    Sub-Goal: $250.00
Family size: 2 adults, 1 19 month old girl, and 1 98-pound dog
Shop: ShopRite...always double up to .99, but only 4 of the same coupon per visit

    Dear Ladies;

I want to do this challenge but will need some help. We have a family of 5, plus 2 dogs and 1 cat. How do you budget for this? I also like using coupons but am unsure how to get more than the Sunday paper and how to get the most out of them. I am taking any and all ideas.

check on line, you can do a search for coupons, check the coupon trading post, and when you make things do it in bulk also buy in bulk. Huge thing with me is don't use coupons if you have them but don't usually buy that stuff. Like frozen dinners if you have the coupon but don't usually buy them don't buy just because your saving a few cents. I will let you know what else i think of and we all know there will be other great ideas. figure out what you spend and what you spend it on then see where you can cut back i know my main expensive items are soda, buy a ton and it is so expensive so i am cutting back on what i buy for soda. also under bargan bazarr there is a thread that one of the girls did that she has sites that you can print some out. she surfed for us. how nice of her . Hope this helps.
