Default I cancelled our digital cable...

and turned in box and remote. The remote and box alone were $10 a month! I watched what channels my kids and I watched and noticed we never went over the basic channels. So I took box and remote in and cancelled it. The kids were confused as they thought they wouldnt be able to watch anything. haha. But I explained that we werent using the channels.

So instead of $74 a month it will be $50! Every little bit helps! I am excited. Not much I can cut back on now.

Way to go. We get a better deal having digital cable and we do watch more of those channels. I like the box because of the parental controls. Lets me block individual shows not just by rating.

    Good call!

I gave up cable a couple of months ago.

Great idea. I always have to ask myself how many channels can I watch at one time, whenever I start to think I need to upgrade my cable service.

Starting in February 2009 you will have to have digital if you have cable at all.

I did the same thing last year too!!

The costs of cable TV is ridiculous! I still have 65 channels and plenty of variety. I will need to get the digital converter boxes but figure after the coupon, about $20 each at most.

We gave up cable around 5 months ago. I don't miss it much there are a few shows that I really enjoyed that aren't on local channels. My dad on the other hand really misses it. Mom and I have both told him if he wants it he'll have to pay for it. So far he hasn't ordered it again but talks about it often. He's almost got his credit card paid off so we'll see if he orders it then.
