Back on the frugal wagon
Hello all, I have been away for a while due to family, health and personal issues. But now that I have things taken care, I have spent the last 3 weeks cleaning decluttering and working on my house, and now that it is in order and I am getting things orgainzed and my self on a schedule again I deceided that it was time to try and get myself on the frugal wagaon again., plus I had someone staying with us that belive it or not stole my meat and pantry back up
So to be able to build it back up I really have to work hard to stay within budget, so far this weekend I have managed to save $55.00 buy using my coupons and shopping sales, the dillions store here had peterpan peanutbutter for 10 for $10. and i had a $1.00 off coupon on one (to bad i did not have more) so I got 10 for $9.00, they had pork chops b1g1f- so and there italian and country sausage for 5 for $10 so i stocked up on those, plus they had alot of close outs on bbq sauce spg sauce and things like that so i bought a few of each just trying to get pantry built back up. all I have left is buying lunch stuff for dh lunch and some hambuger for next week. now i am going to buy a few extas each week until I get a nice pantry and freeze built up again. I wanted to stop buy and say hello and thanks for all the great advice i have gotten. I have been busy reading and remember all the things that everyone has shared with each other I am also going to start making breakfast for the kids instead of cearl for breakfast each day save on milk and cearl (i started homeschool the kids). so I am making menu for the week and sticking to my list.
and when the weather warms up i will start hanging up my clothes again. I am also thinking about making my own laundry soap just have to see how much the ingridents are and if its cheaper then buying it. I just have to take things in small steps due to health reasons, does any one use master mixes and if so do you know where i can find the reciepes for them. thanks again for the help and the advice.

I've gotten a little sloppy lately with my spending... confusing things I 'want' for things I 'need'. So as of today -- March 1 -- I'm back on the wagon also.
I'm trying to make things from scratch also... I found this website for some master mixes, it may help: http://www.cooks.com/rec/story/73/

Way to go you two! Good for you to climb back on the frugal wagon, whatever the cause. I am so enjoying the challenge of the my Money Makeover this year. It's been very revealing. I cannot be trusted with credit cards. So I retired them to DH's possession. He has found a safe keeping place for them.
I've been trying lots of ideas on the Ten Top Frugal Tips thread. They really are good. Best of luck!

Welcome back to the wagon!
After spending $174 at Aldi (!) last week, I am determined to get back to menu planning and shopping sales/coupons. Everything is going up except my income!
