    Default Looking for a thread!

Last week or so there was a thread started by a lady, can't remember name, about what she spends on groceries, and another lady on this forum was saying she paid $75.00 per month and a couple of us asked her if she could give us ideas on what she buys and what kind of meals she makes. I don't think I could get that low personally, but I wanted some great ideas.

I have had a lot of trouble not being able to get on this site the last week, and cannot find the thread for anything. Anyone else with a great memory, could you help me out please?!?!?!?!?!

Yes, that is the right thread and it is post #5 that you are talking about. I personally don't see how anyone could feed a family of 4 on less than $75 a month...maybe she meant to say week. I raised 4 kids and even back in the days of turkey leg soup I spent more than $75. a month.

Tracy has posted several times that she only spends $75 a month on food. How she does it I will NEVER, EVER know. I am truly in awe.

A Blog I follow from time to time has several low cost menus.

She only spends $35 a week, but recently raised her budget to $40 a week due to rising prices.

One thing I've noticed about a lot of these menus is the lack of fresh fruits and vegatables. And a lot of other stuff (lots of pasta, rice, breads, etc) that some of us just don't eat. I easily spend over 20.00 week just on fresh produce for dh and I.

I would love to cut my grocery bill
