I found a great deal at the grocery today

The local Meijer store is closing soon so they can open a new one (closer for me) and since the stock isn't the same since the closing I went to another Meijer about 12 miles away. I'm soooooooo glad I did.

I needed some hamburger since we are completely out. Well I looked at an end cap display and saw a price of $1.50 for a 3lb chub of ground beef. I thought this meant that it was $1.50 per pound (since that's the going sale price per pound) so I went to find a price scanner and lo and behold. It was only $1.50 total, that's just 50 cents a pound. I got 60lbs.

I blew the budget for this week but I will save a ton in the long run. Tonight I need hubby's help dividing it into smaller portions, pattying up some burgers and making meatballs.

Wow ..... great deal!! One time I went when hyvee was cleaning out their freezers. They had a big boxes of frozen food for 20.00 a piece. I bought three and it was so worth it!! Lots of frozen fruits and veggies as well as pizza's and dinners in the boxes. In the long run it saved us alot of money. Sometimes it just pays to be nosey, ask and price things out.
