Got our first organic produce delivery on Tuesday!
Sorry so late reporting in, haven't felt too great the past few days. We received our first delivery from GrowAlabama on Tuesday and all I can say is yyuuuummmyy!!!! The whole family was extremely impressed with the quality and taste. The box capacity was 1 1/9 bushel and was approx. 3/4 full. We got 8 different veggies, 1 fruit and had bought in addition 2 dozen eggs, 1 chicken and 2 lbs Amish butter.
Everything is fresh, organic, grown in AL, and all animals are free-range grass fed. I haven't tasted chicken like that since my Ninny quit raising chickens when I was a kid.
We've already changed from bi-weekly deliveries to weekly, it was just that delicious! This is what we will be getting in the future:
1 "Gold" box of produce containing from 8-12 different veggies plus 1 fruit weekly
1 dozen eggs weekly
2 chickens per month
2 orders (2lb each) Amish butter per month
We get home delivery and will be paying $189.63 per month. For us the increased cost is more than worth the all the taste, health and convenience benefits.Last edited by FrugalWitch; 03-14-2008 at 08:34 PM.

Hey mickee (MTV memories there), I found out about it at localharvest.org.
They provide a state-by-state listing.
