Do you go all out for Christmas decorating?
How do you decorate for Christmas and when do you start?
Do you buy a real tree,or artifical?
Do you have lights on your house?
What theme or type decorations will you be using?
Wooden figures in the yard? :santa:
I've always had an artifical tree but this year I think I want a real tree
I never go ALL out but this year I want to do more.We put lights around the house,(that we TAKE DOWN AFTER christmas-I would NEVER leave mine up allyear!!! Hope I don't offend anyone.. Just MY preference ).I don't decorate every room in my house, but I have alot of "pretties" I sit out
I'm not sure what theme I'll use.I want something diff.I've used the same decorations for about 3 years,so a change is needed.
I like all the wooden/primitive/country decorations Wal-Mart has this year. Most are 97¢ each.Wonder how many I need to fill a 6ft tree lol
Tell us how you decorate for the Christmas holiday!

I'm actually thinking about an artificial tree this year for 2 reasons:
we almost had a water tragedy on wood floor from tree stand &
our cat loves to scatter the needles that drop.
This is just my 3rd year or so to have a tree so I'm still acquiring
ornaments. I've been getting alot of "fillers" at Big Lots since
I need so many.
I'll likely do some decorating of my mantle & I have a few things
to place around the living room. As far as outside, I do garland
around my front door strung w/ white lights & also hang a wreath
on the door.
We may venture out w/ lights in trees in the yard this year (seems
like alot of neighbors go all out & ours looks pretty bare!)

I use to decorate with lots but now am simplifying. We may have a real tree I haven't decided on that yet. We have miniature lights around the outside of the house and a few on the tree with homemade oranaments. Thats it.

I keep mine fairly simple also. We do a real tree- go into the woods and cut our own every year. We have to do it early so that my oldest can come with us while she is home on Thanksgiving break- she just wouldn't hear of us getting it without her, and I don't have the heart to deprive her of this tradition. So, my tree is up from the last weekend in Nov till the week after xmas. I get a long needle tree, and it looks beautiful right up until we take it down. We do simple white lights outside, put a wreath on the door, and I display my nativity set on the coffee table, and put my snowman collection around the house.

I am simple, a few outside lights because mil gave me some, a fake tree cuz I am allergic to real pine needles and always end up cleaning them up
Stockings and that all
of course i have teens so i do not have to do a big build up for a certain visitor either

I used to go all out when I had my own house... this year will probably be different living in someone elses house. We'll see.

I have a 6 ft artificial tree and all of the trimmings, hopefully I'll get to use it.

I just say I have more trees then people in my home.....lol
One vicotiran, cabin type decorated one, disney princess one in dd's room, dinsosaur/disney whatever son puts on his, snowman one for dining room, just lights/star on front porch.......and we don't count the little ones.
So I guess...............YES I go all out decorating for the holidays, right down to the snowman silverware we use.
Hubby has bought me the complete Debbie Munn dishes, placemats etc.. So cool!

Since we live in lumber land, we always have a real tree. We put up some basic lights outside and our nativity set on the mantel. We use a lot of old ornaments and I buy one or two eveyr year--not necessarily new. I bought several at yard sales last year!

I have never went all out, and don't plan on it this year. We just can't afford all the decorations that I would love to have. lol But, I do decorate with what I have, and make it look warm, and nice. If I ever get a chance to I will go all the way out.

We have an artificial tree because 2 of the 3 boys have allergies. They can not live with a real one around in the house. I do decorate the house with lights and take them down also after Christmas. I also put some yard art up. I try to add some part of Christmas to each part of the house. I love Christmas and love to decorate for it. I guess I got this from my grandparents. They used to always win the Christmas House Decorating contest in their town....lol!! I used to help them decorate too when I was a child and I guess it carried over into adulthood. I have red and white lights on the tree with alot of homemade ornaments. Also each year, I buy an ornament or make an ornament for each of the boy's and add to the tree.

we go all out at our home, have a REAL tree that each year has a different theme (this year it will be red, white and blue for our country), then i have collected enough decorations over the years (from sales, family, yard sales) to fully decorate the inside of our home ----we also have a Santa w/sleigh, a polar bear, a Santa by himself, a candle, candy canes, a Navity scene, and a couple others of the hard plastic light up yard decorations...we also have a fence around our front and back yard and we put lights all the way around and all the way around the house....Santa and the sleigh usually sit on the roof......candy canes line the driveway (i guess this year my son and i will do the decorating since my dh is gone, at least for now).........we also decorate nicely for Halloween, all the people that live anywhere near us are used to us decorating and ride by to see it every year, i enjoy it alot......vickie

Christmas is obscene in my house! We have an artificial tree with a huge amount of lights-all white, plain white, white bubble lights, white snowball lights in different sizes. Instead of garland, I braid blue and silver beads and drape that through the tree. The majority of the ornaments are blue or silver. We have a wrap around porch that I drape in pine garland wrapped in white lights and blue and silver velvet ribbon and pointsettias. I do the same with the staircase inside and I have big oversized ornaments for it. I have 2 small trees for the front porch, a ceramic nativity for the hall and plenty of little additions for the other rooms.
