I have one more idea to add to the list- fabric! You can purchase fabric and cut out motifs, apply to the wall with liquid fabric starch, and there you are! Easy to do, very easy to take down when you leave, or get bored with it. I've done this in my kitchen and it came out great!

    Great idea, Patchworkgirl!

Anyone else have any frugal decorating tips for baby or kids rooms?

I have used fabric to cover the front of a cabinet and a dresser to make it coordinate with the bedding and curtains.

My girls share a room so here is what we did to make it cute for a 5 year old as well as for a baby:

My family all chipped in and bought matching twin size and crib size bed linens for the girls' beds. The design is flower pots and flowers. The room was already painted a lilac purple. I bought inexpensive large plastic terra cotta pots to use as a trash can and laundry hamper. We also have other flower pots we have collected over the years from other plants that have since died

My next project will be painting a picket fence along the wall with the leftover white paint we used to repaint the crib and maybe some butterflies too.

    Anyway, hope that helps someone.
