Default What do you pay for a roll of toilet paper?

After the thread about what you pay for a box of cereal, I got to thinking about necessities. Doesn't get more necessary than this. I assume we all by TP??? I never know what A GOOD DEAL is. Anyone ever thought this one through??? I bought nine rolls for 3 bucks today. So, I paid 33 cents a roll. What do you think? It was Northern Brand.

    Default Yep

I agree with the Scott toilet paper. One roll lasts us just over a week, and a couple times a year I can get the 12 packs on sale with a coupon around $2.99.

LOL I used to buy that brand on sale with coupons at Walgreens. Extra Soft Scott now comes in several different roll sizes, so you have to watch. The Mega Size rolls are the size that last a long time. It used to be the only size they had.

But, I haven't paid for a roll of toilet paper since last fall. Here, Marsh and Kroger regularly have Cottonelle for $1 and until last month I have always had .50 off coupons that double and make it free. It is not my favorite brand, but FREE is my favorite price. I am getting low and these rolls are small and don't last long. I have less than 20 of the free packages left and the new coupons were only for .25 here instead of .50. Bummer. I also regularly get toilet paper free or for pennies at CVS with extra bucks. I guess I will have to go back to that now since my free source dried up.

Our butts are picky and we prefer Charmin soft in the blue pkg. I dunno how much we pay. But I recently got a huge load of Cottonelle free with coupons, so we'll be switching for a while.

I generally buy the CVS version of Scott. 12 roll pack had been running pretty frequently for $4.99. That makes it 41.333 cents a roll. I was buying the Walgreens version when they ran it with thier coupon fro .29 or .39 a roll. They don't ever run it less than .50 now so it's been the CVS version. I need a stock up sale soon.

Of coarse, I do buy other brands if I can get them pretty cheap with coupons. I don't like to pay any more than .15/.20 a roll for anything other than the Scott type/footage since they last us about 4 times as long as anything else.

TP is something that used to go on sale here alot but never seems to anymore. I normally pay 5.50 for a 24 pack at Dollar General, so .23 a roll for Angel Soft. I have gotten IGA brand for 3.99 a 24 pack so that's .17 a roll and it's not much different than Angel Soft. We rarely get coupons for tp here either so I'm stuck paying the higher price! And since I have IBS, we use ALOT of it!

I buy mine at Sam's Club. It is 36 double rolls for 15.88(would be cheaper if I ordered online but I haven't tried that yet) That is .44 cents per roll. But it is actually like 72 rolls in how long it lasts so about .22 cents per roll.

I have to agree with you on Scott being so rough. I haven't tried the extra soft. Will check it out. I usually only stock up twice a year and get the 20 roll packs of Scott's and sometimes Marcal. I think I end up paying about .50 to .55 a roll. Now with prices going up so much I'm going to have to keep an eye out for that.

I generally buy our TP at Sam's Club and end up paying 28 cents a roll for a double roll.
