Well, I wouldn't so much call it a real "recipe" because I don't do exact measures, but here is what I do.

1 lb or so ground turkey
    1 can tomato sauce
    1 egg
    2 pieces of bread
    Italian Seasoning or Rosemary Seasoning

Oven at 400. Mix up turkey, 1/2 can of tomato sauce, egg, and bread that has been crumbled, and some seasoning (whatever looks good to you). Mash, mash, mash. I hate big chunks of bread. Ok, now put into your loaf pan. Pour remaining tomato sauce on top and spreak it around evenly. Bake about 1 hour.

    Clear as mud ?

    Enjoy!

I don't measure either, but I use about 1 .5 lbs. lean ground beef, oatmeal, 2 eggs, 1 chopped onion, 1 pkg. of dry italitan dressing mix. I mix it all up and put it in my crock pot to cook all day. I top it with ketchup.

I don't have a recipe, I just kinda throw it together, but I will tell that since I read somewhere ( can't recall where) a recipe calling for a can of stewed tomatoes in the meatloaf mix, my meatloaves have been soooo moist and good. I had a problem with them drying out before.

I usually use hamburger, stewed tomatoes, small can tomato sauce ( 1/2 in mixture, save 1/2 to put with ketchup and a teeny bit of brown sugar if desired for topping.) Plus onion, bell pepper, egg and a few slices of bread crumbled and soaked in a little bit of milk. Salt , pepper, maybe a touch of garlic powder .

NOTE : I make a huge loaf for leftovers and sandwiches. A can of tomatoes may be too much unless you are using at least a couple pounds of hamburger.

I put two hard-boiled eggs in the center of my meat loaf.

    My meatloaf:

    2lbs ground beef
    1 Egg
    1/4 cup of Milk
    1/2 Cup of Bread Crumbs
    1 package of "meatloaf" seasoning
Ketchup (to taste and on top)

Mix all ingredients and save some Ketchup for the top
I bake mine in a cooking bag at 300 for an hour to an hour 1/2

YUMMY!! Especially if you are like me and you don't like "chunks" of vegetables.

The idea about the tomatoes sounds good..I like the petite diced ones..I might try that next time!
