When I empty out a milk container I fill it with water and water my plants. Don't know why it works so well but sour milk mixed with water works great for gardens and house plants.

a lot of amish recipes call for sour milk, but nothing comes to mind that would help you use up a gallon of it.

We go through milk so fast I can't even imagine it going sour but I'll take a look at this site when I get a chance.

I don't know whether I could use almost the whole gallon, but my banana bread recipe calls for sour milk and usually I have to make sour milk with sweet milk and vinegar. Many other such recipes call for sour milk. I would think you could almost use it meatloaf, biscuits, scones, pancakes, waffles. The only thing I wouldn't try using it in is cake.....might sour the cake.

Now I'm going to check out the website.
