Brown Bag Lunch ideas... for work!
I know that this section is specifically for Brown Bag school lunches, but I thought similar principles could apply to those of us who work outside the home and bring our own lunches (or pack lunches for our significant others who work outside the home).
I'm definitely stuck in a rut on this, and I've been trying to change it up lately, but mine and my hubby's lunch staples still remain:
* pita chips and hummus
* leftovers (difficult to eat at your desk)
* cheese in various portable forms (pregnancy cravings -- the baby is a cheese monster!)
* PB&J
* various assortments of whatever looks good from the produce section
I thought it would be fun to share our "usuals" with everyone, as maybe one of our usuals will spark something new for someone else.

Hi Ani,
Hubby usually just takes whatever is leftover from supper the night before. Dd takes either a sandwich and veggies & ranch dressing, a lunchable or a salad. Sorry, guess I'm not much help here.
Congrats on the new baby!!!

My usuals are
soup
any fruit that we have in the kitchen
leftovers
I find it easiest for myself to take leftovers to work. If I'm very rushed in the morning, I will grab a can of Campbells soup and the can opener, and bring that. I always keep a fork, spoon and butter knife in my desk incase I had one of those grab and go kinds of days.personal loan 900/15000

I will put celery sticks w/cream cheese, puddings, chips & dip (I just put the dip in a small container w/a good cover) in dh's lunchbox. If you have some good containers w/tight fitting covers in various sizes, you can put almost anything in a lunch box (bag).

Thanks everyone for the great ideas! I like the idea of including condiments (dips, cream cheese) to make standard items more exiting.
I practically worship this site. I was vegetarian for years and vegan for several months before I became pregnant and my little belly pirate started demanding all sorts of things that I feel morally opposed to eating.
I plan on going back to vegetarian as soon as possible, and providing lots of vegetarian choices for my child so that they can clearly choose which lifestyle they'd prefer. That woman is so very innovative with her lunch packing though, it's incredible! I even have laptop lunchboxes for hubby and I. I should start using them more again! Thanks for the reminder.
