Dump Cake
Here is a recipe that I got from a friend a long, long time ago. It's quick and easy.
Dump Cake
1 box cake mix, any flavor
1 egg
1 can of fruit, any flavor, including it's juice
1. Dump cake mix in baking dish
2. Add egg and the canned fruit (including juice)
3. Mix and cook using the box Instructions
I have made this many times Try mixing and matching flavors and different fruit.

That sounds really easy. My 10yr old keeps asking to make dessert by himself, he could do this and I'd just have to supervise.

I make my dump cake differently. For mine I mix a can of cherry pie filling and a can of crushed pineapple in my baking dish. I then sprinkle on half a box of white cake mix, drizzle with a stick of melted butter, and sometimes sprinkle some coconut on top, then bake for an hour at 350.

My mother has been looking for this dump cake recipe for years now. She was so excited when I told her about this thread. She went to the store to buy the stuff she needed. Without exaggeration she has been talking about this recipe for 19 years. The dump cake recipes that we would find always had more ingredients than she remembered.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

I usually use different kinds. If the fruit is large, I chop it up

I like to take a can of peaches and put them in my baking pan, dump a box of yellow cake mix on top. Drizzle with butter. Bake. It's like cobbler. YUM!

Finally made this, and it just came out of the oven 10 mins ago...Hmmm it's almost gone! We couldn't even wait til it cooled. I did a yellow cake with a can of pears. I really like this because it taste so good and doesn't need frosting cause it was soooo moist. I usually don't eat that much cake, cause I hate frosting.

I tried it tonight with yellow cake and a large can of pineapple chunks. Wow, it was delicious and easy! My kids loved it! I will try chocolate cake with cherry filling next. Thanks for sharing such a great, diverse and frugal recipe! Whenever you have to whip something up for company, you are bound to have these ingredients on hand!!!
