WWYD with....
a 2 lb pork roast?
My mom has ordered some angel food, and there were a few things left that she didn't want. One of those things was a pork roast. I haven't ever cooked one. Can I cook something in the crockpot? How should I season it? Should I cut it up and cook it another way?
What would you make with it?

we love pork roast. i put mine in the crock pot with just about a cup of water, a few shots of liquid smoke and some dry bbq rub. (we prefer head country, but i know thats hard to find in some places) when its done, i shred it and pour bbq sauce over the top. you can either eat it on sandwiches or plain with some potatoes or fries.

I cook mine in the crockpot on low overnight with 1 cup of gingerale and some onions on top. In the morning remove the onions, drain out the juice, shredd the meat, then continue to cook on low for another 6 hours with bbq sauce. Serve on buns.

I cook mine in the crockpot with onions, carrots and potato chunks just thrown on top with 2 cups water. That's a complete meal with almost no work. The leftover meat gets shredde and goes back in the crockpot with some bbq sauce and we serve it on buns.

We like ours in the crockpot. We cut several slits in it to put garlic (love garlic). Then DH pours a can of mushroom gravy over it with more mushrooms and cooks it for a few hours.

We cook ours in the oven in a really heavy, lidded roasting pan. We marinade it first in whatever we have then put it in the pot with rosemary & potatoes. Cover with water and cook 2-3 hrs at 350 (depends on the size). Absolutely one of our favorite meals!

I cook mine in a crockpot or a roaster pan with onions potatoes carrots
( I also add 1/2 to 1 cup water for gravy and sometimes dry onion soup mix )
I sprinkle it with garlic powder and salt and pepper .
Slow cook it either way for about 7 to 8 hours.
Its is the best.

DH and I don't eat a lot of pork (and he doesn't like BBQ sauce) but we do love a nice pot of pozole, that's what I'd make with it
“When you get to the end of all the light you know

faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”

courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

One more crockpot version for you---
Pepsi Pork Roast: add one can Pepsi (not diet), one can mushroom soup, and one packet onion soup mix. Sometimes I chop up an onion and add that, too, or, I've added a second can of mushroom soup. Cook on low all day. It makes a nice gravy-- serve with mashed potatoes.

It's funny that you mention pork roast....I made that for Tuesday's dinner. Roast isn't roast unless it's done in the crockpot. It was still frozen hard as a rock so before I finally went to bed at 4:00 am yesterday morning, I put in in the crockpot, sprinkled it with some salt, pepper, garlic powder, cajun seasoning and red pepper flakes (only a little bit though on those two). I then pour mushroom broth over it and put it on low. It cooked from 4:00 am to about 2:00 and it was done and falling apart. I flipped it over twice just to make sure that the top didn't get dried out. I turned it on warm and served it with boiled potatoes and homemade mushroom gravy (from the drippings in the crockpot). It was tender, moist, falling apart and had just the right amount of seasonings....not spicy but not bland either.

tbs--The syrup in the Pepsi kind of crystalizes on the meat and makes it very yummy!! It doesn't taste like Pepsi, though. And the acid and carbonation help break down the fibers in the meat so it comes out nice and tender, to boot!
I don't know if this would work with an off-brand of soda.
