Barbeque Sandwiches?
A few years ago, we were at a football game in Arizona and got these sandwiches that had meat that looked like it was shredded up and mixed with some kind of sauce. I think it was called a barbeque sandwich or something, and is apparently popular in the States (at least we saw it on the menu a lot in Arizona).
Is this something that I could make with leftover roast beef? I always have a lot leftover and so far all my attempts to create something new have been very poorly received.
Appreciate any ideas/help. TIA

It could have been shredded chicken or pork barbeque and I dont see why you couldn't use roast beef, just add some barbeque sauce and some water and heat in a crock pot for a while and WALA!

Put it in a crock pot, cover with beef stock and water. crock it for about 5 hrs. by this time it should begin shredding on its own ( help with a few forks if you want), add bbq sauce and any flavorings you like. I add dollops of grape jelly to sweeten it some. DH likes more of a garlicy flavor, so when he does it it is garlicy. i use a slotted spoon to get meat out of the crock and we serve on toasted kaiser rolls.
It might not be what you are lookng for, but it's how we do it anyway

Yes, you could make them with L/O Beef. I use my crockpot and put the beef and some barbeque sauce in the crockpot, turn it on low while I am at work (about 9 hours) and serve it on Hamburger buns when I get home.

Thanks for all the responses, it sounds easy enough, I'll give it a shot with the next roast.
The one I had was definitely beef, but I'm sure they had pork ones too. I think the beef was less 'barbequey' and maybe had peppers in it too. My memory is a bit fuzzy, maybe I'll have to go back and have another one

I love to use leftover pot roast for BBQ sandwiches! I just chop the cold meat and then throw it in a saucepan with some KC Masterpiece (my favorite!) BBQ sauce. Heat over medium low heat. YUMMY! I wish I had some leftover roast, now.
