please help me think of meals w/these ingredients
Hi,
I am trying to come up with a few meal ideas with what I have left in the pantry/freezer. I won't have $ to go grocery shopping until at least Saturday and I'm panicing a little bit, trying to think of what to feed the 5 of us (myself, dh, 14 yr old, 10 yr old and 3 yr old) for the next 4 days.
Here's what I have on hand:
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. pork sausage
1 boneless chicken breast
3 chicken thigh/leg quarters
1 pkg pepperoni slices
1 can tomato soup
1 can golden mushroom soup
1 can chicken rice soup
1 can chili beans
1 can red beans
2 boxes mac & cheese
3 packets ramen noodles (2 chicken, 1 oriental)
1 packet brown gravy mix
1 can tuna
1/2 pkg frozen hash browns
1 lb. cheddar cheese
1/2 gallon milk
3 sticks of butter
flour
sugar
peanut butter
jelly
numerous jars of spices
If anyone has any ideas and/or recipes, I would greatly appreciate it!!
Thanks!

If you can buy a can of biscuits or make some you can use that can of chicken and rice soupo to make mini pot pies.
Take one can of biscuits dough and split each bisquit in half. Open and drain the can of soup. Use a muffin tin and press half a bisquit into each cup. put a spoon full of soup into each one and place the other half of the biscuit on top. Brush with butter or oil ans sprinle with any seasoning you like. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. My family loves them.

Combine these together and make a breakfast casserole thing, just brown the sausage, cook the hashbrowns and top with cheese. Yum!
1 lb. pork sausage
1/2 pkg frozen hash browns
1 lb. cheddar cheese
Cheese burger Mac...
1 lb. ground beef ( I would only use 1/2 of this with the Mac and cheese)
2 boxes mac & cheese
I would cook the chicken, remove it from the bone, then combine it with the ramen to give it some protein and help it stick to the bones. The boil the bones and make some boullion to freeze for later.
3 packets ramen noodles (2 chicken, 1 oriental)
3 chicken thigh/leg quarters
Chili, if you have some chili powder, cumin, garlic salt and onion salt, combine it all together with a little water.
1 lb. ground beef (the other half)
1 can chili beans
1 can red beans
1 can tomato soup (this would be in place of tomato paste, it will work the same way)
numerous jars of spices
Well, thats all I can come up with, I hope that helps!

I have some ideas for you, just wondering do you have any yeast or pasta noodles in the house or any veggies, like green beans or potatoes?

Mac and cheese with tuna makes a good tuna casserole. Cook mac according to the directions, mix in the tuna and mushroom soup, put in a casserole dish top with some shredded cheddar and bake until the cheese is melted, or golden brown on top.
Also for a snack or dessert you can make some easy peanut butter cookies:
1 cup sugar (you can cut this down to 3/4 cup, if you prefer)
1 large egg
1 cup peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
Combine sugar and egg in mixing bowl, stirring till smooth. Add peanut butter and mix in thoroughly. Roll into walnut-sized balls.Place the balls on ungreased cookie sheets at least 2" apart. Flatten with the tines of a fork. Turn 90 degrees and use fork again to create cross hatches. Bake 10 minutes at 375F (or till done). Let cool in pan for 1 minute before removing to cooling rack.
Also you can make chili.
Brown the hamburger meat, add chili beans, red beans, tomato soup, and add salt, pepper chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder. You could even do that one in the crock pot, but you have to brown the hamburger meat first.
If you have any rice you could take the chicken and cut it up and put it in a casserole dish with rice and chicken soup and make a chicken and rice casserole.
That's all I can think of right now.

1/2 pkg frozen hash browns + 1 lb. pork sausage + cheddar cheese for a delicious (and hearty!) breakfast or really any time kind of meal! If you have any fresh veggies (or extra potatoes!), throw them in as well! Wonderful skillet meal.
2 boxes mac & cheese + add-ins! I LOVE pepperoni slices (cut up) in my mac n cheese! Tuna and peas is another great idea! or any leftover, cooked meat
3 packets ramen noodles (2 chicken, 1 oriental) Use all the noodles, but only use the 2 packets of chicken seasoning - Make the ramen, drain and add in cooked meat of any kind (the breast would be great!) - throw in any veggies you might have/like - tuna and/or eggs would be yummy too!
I agree about making chili too!
What about using the ground beef to make some meatballs (season it of course!) and using it with the gravy mix? Do you have rice or noodles to go with it? That's just a thought.
Or you could make a meatloaf if you have oatmeal or breadcrumbs to stretch the meat and use the tomato soup and/or ketchup as well!
Yumm!
Also, if you have a crockpot, most of those meats would be DELICIOUS smothered in some of the soups you have left and cooked on low for 5-8 hours - we LOVE our crockpot!

Here are my ideas, I think some are similar to other people who have posted:
I would mix the 2 boxes mac & cheese with some ground beef (browned).
Someone else suggested Chili and that sounds like a great idea you could make it with some of the sausage or ground beef or go meatless. If you have yeast on hand you could make some bread to go with that.
The ramen noodles and chicken I would make together and add any veggies if you have some on hand.
If you have any pasta noodles I was thinking a simple tuna casserole with the tuna, 1/2 cup milk, cream of mushroom soup, and 1/2 cup mayo. Mix all the ingredients together and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
I like Tbs727 suggestion for breakfast casserole that sounds really good!
You could also add the pepperoni to the chili, breakfast casserole, or a hamburger mac & cheese to jazz up the recipes.
Peanut Butter cookies: 1 cup PB, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg Directions: Warm PB until melted (1-2mins) in microwave, stir in beaten egg and the sugar form into 1" balls place on cookie sheet then slightly flatten with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes until slightly golden brown. Yields 16 sweet, warm, crumbly cookies. You could even top with some jelly before eating to make them PB&J cookies

Yup. BTDT.
wanted to add...you could make a white sauce out of flour, the milk, and butter & spices & the rest of the cheese with the pepperoni....for the "pizza" concoction.
