Non Bread Lunches
My son is 8. He has been going to school for 3 years. And he really dislikes bread. Just bread. He likes pancakes, frenchtoast, breadsticks, etc. Just bread for sandwiches he dislikes strongly. I have sent him to school w everythign on crackers, and lunchables, but I would like to get some more ideas for some school lunches for him this year.
Any ideas hot or cold would be appreciated. Thanks!

Does he like tortillas? You could do tortilla wraps. Or English muffin pizzas. Corn dog in a thermos.

~Have you tried raisen bread? I loved cream cheese on raisen bread sandwiches as a kid. How about peanut butter and jelly muffins? These are peanut buttered flavored with jam cooked inside. Have you checked out http://veganlunchbox.blogspot.com/ ? We're not vegan but I'm always inspired by her creativity.~

What about bagels?
My kids like homemade hot pockets. Pizza filling is their favorite, but I've also done broccoli & cheese, cheeseburgers (hamburger, shredded cheese, ketchup), and ham & egg.

maybe skip bread all together, mac and chz in a thermos-y style bowl.
cold chicken nugget dippers; cooked chicken nuggets and dipping sauces (or hot if you have the aforementioned bowl)
fruit medley
ham and cheese sticks. Go to the deli and get a quarter pound of ham...not sliced for sandwiches...a chunk you can cut into sticks, like carrot sticks but ham. then get a chunk of cheese and do the same, carrots and celery too. they're small hands friendly and good for them
send a tortilla, some pepperoni slices, and again if you have a small heat retaining bowl, put some hot pizza sauce in. he can build his own pizza for lunch with shredded motz to go with it.~~ Missy ~~

Instead of bread, you could use: Bagels or mini bagels, english muffins, tortillas, pita bread, tortilla `chips (using a healthy "dip" like beans and cheese or something like that)

My daughter is like that. She will only eat grilled cheese. She has never even had peanut butter and jelly! She dislikes everything. I give her gogurts, apples, crackers, pop tarts, pretzels, cereal bars, cereal in a tupperware container and she buys a milk at school. My other daugher would only take ham and cheese rolled up and bread seperately. I finally after about 2 years of convincing her to try it she said "oh that tastes good!" My older two would eat anything, the younger two have been a nightmare...(They take after my husband's side of course!) LOL

I send anything that can be dipped: fruits with sweet dips, veggies with ranch dressing, bread sticks with spaghetti sauce, tortilla chips with salsa or cheese sauce, celery or apple slices with peanut butter
Skewers with ham chunks, cheese cubes and pineapple tidbits.

How about the old time favs, celery sticks with peanut butter on them, celery & carrots sticks with ranch dip.
And a new favorite of mine...........lettuce wraps, (I love these from the chinese place) I think you could make some type of mixture put into a container and put the large lettuce pieces into a seperate plastic bag and he could put it together when its lunch time.
