    Default It's been 5 days....

and my dear family has no idea that I have been giving them powdered milk.

I decided that I was going to get powdered milk into this house one way or the other....DH is totally against drinking it..... well...I have been mixing regular 2% with powdered and filling the milk jugs back up...rotating and being careful to hide the powdered milk box after mixing....and they have been drinking it and no one has said a word....HeHe

I'm going to tell them this weekend and DH will owe me a big hug and kiss for helping him with his arrogant ways.

Wow! I don't even drink milk and I can't stand the smell of the powdered! Good for you! I've been tempted to try that, dd is the only one who really drinks milk in the house, but does it look different?

Honestly...no it doesn't look different but it has a different taste all by itself. Because I am mixing 1/2 and 1/2 regular with powdered the taste is the same as regular milk. I just make sure to put my mixture in the fridge in the garage for a day so it gets good and cold.

I was really hesitant to try it and DH was so adamantly against it but I thought what could it hurt and the powdered is so cheap. I can't wait to see their faces when I tell them it's been powdered mixed with regular. HeHe!!

My mom did that when we were growing up. I actually continued it for several months on my own until I realized that I was ending up throwing out soured milk because I didn't use it fast enough to warrant mixing it like that. Another of the oddities of living alone.

WTG girl, but I have to tell ya this is one of those stories that your kids are gonna sit around and laugh about once they're grown. How do I know? Well I used to buy generic cereals and put them in the name brand boxes. One day dson was eating "Lucky Charms" and said "HEY! THESE AREN'T LUCKY CHARMS!!!". I said yes they are, shut up and eat em..... We laugh about it now ALL of the time.

That is so funny. You should take a photo the moment you tell them - it will be a kodak moment

Good for u dear. I had my kids years ago on 100% powdered milk. But hubby had to open his big mouth and follow their dads bad ways. So after a little while they wouldnt use it in their cereal. They only use it in their shakes because they cant taste it.

I often thought of doing that with milk, more so now since prices are going sky high. When my kids were little I did that with cereal and cookies.

I am chuckling here about your sneaky ways, you make the Mom squad proud . It is amazing how set in their ways our families are and how dead set against something that they have never had and what sweet poetic justice it is when we can laugh and tell them that they have been eating/drinking it all along. Lisa is right, in years to come you will all have a laugh about this .

My mom did that when we were teenagers and she didn't tell us for a long time. By then we were so used to it we didn't fuss.
