Default need frugal recipe for dinner

I'm in need of a frugal recipe for a dinner that will serve minimum of 4 people and cost under $7. It can't be chicken/cheese or chicken cream soup combo, mexican, beans and rice, tuna, or pasta.

    Any recipes?

How about fried ground beef with cabbage, some warm homemade bread, and a fruit cocktail cake for dessert? I have recipes if you want them.

The fried hamburger/cabbage is so easy and good. Just brown a pound of ground beef in a large pan, drain off the grease, and add a head of chopped cabbage. Cook until cabbage looks done and add seasonings like S & P or seasoned salt.

The fruit cocktail cake I make is as follows:
    box of yellow cake mix
    2-3 eggs
    1/3 cup vegetable oil
    can of fruit cocktail, undrained

Beat eggs, oil, and cake mix together. Stir in undrained fruit cocktail. Pour into greased 9 by 13 pan. Mix together 1/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup brown sugar, and chopped walnuts and sprinkle over top of batter. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes or until done.

I usually use my breadmaker for homemade bread or you could throw together something quick like a beer bread.

If you have a little extra money, you could serve a veggie on the side, like string beans or steamed baby carrots.

I make the hamburger and cabbage and add mexican seasonings and serve it in corn tortillas and put a little cheese on top. It's poor man's food but oh so good!

I make this and get the Porterhouse Frozen Rolls by Bridgeford($1.72 @ WM for 24 rolls) to make Beerocks...Empanadas. You can use taco seasoned meat with Worcestershire sauce.

I'd make a beef or pork pot roast with gravy and whatever veggies I had on hand (normally fresh carrots and onions). Even a couple cans of corn and instant mashed potatoes don't cost much to have with a pot roast.

Stuffed green peppers. Beef stew. Meatloaf. Swiss steak. Meatballs.
