    Default Spagetti Sandwiches

By now everyone knows that I watch kids, well when lunch time came today. I said spagetti and I could imagine it every where. So today. I took two leftover 6" wheat hogie rolls, cut them in half and scooped out a bit of the bread. I loaded the warmed up spagetti into them and put a piece of cheese.

I cut them up and my monsters scarfed them like there was no tomorrow.. Now I know, the pasta and the bread are alittle redundant in the starches and carbs, but it was good for the kids..

Needless to say I sneaked in the leftover carrots from dinner the other day and corn into my spagetti sauce.. No one even noticed..

    just wanted to share

Great job! And great idea! I hate pasta day at lunch, but that solves it I think!

And good job sneaking in veggies!

~My brother 'invented' the basghetti sandwich! OK, maybe he just thought he did. He was just a little guy and he loved 'em too! Of course, he also loved ketchup sandwiches....~

When my dd eats pasta more gets on her then her mouth. I may have to "steal" that idea.

Last week when hubby was at work, I made a spaghetti and meatball sandwich. After I heated up the spaghetti, I used garlic butter for the bread and toasted it...Italian supper all in one. Yum-Yum

you can also make spagetti pie......

line the pie plate with the spagetti ( no sauce on the spagetti) like you would pie crust but much thicker ( squish it tight to the pie plate to form a crust like mold) ... put cottage cheese in middle and some sauce... bake until browned a bit.

    cut it like pie slices.

I made this once, it was good and a nice change from regular leftover spagetti

It seems all my DD (19mo.) will eat these days is noodles, with or without sauce. I've been omitting the sauce to cut down on the salt, etc. Why did I not think to puree some veggies and hide in the sauce?? I think I'll so this for now and when she gets bigger it will be spagetti sandwhiches around here. Thanks for the info!

I have always (well on occasion), have had a piece of buttered bread and scooped spaghetti on it and have eaten it that way... It tastes pretty good. Different texture for sure. Kind of like a comfort food for me.
